About Me

I live in beautiful Lancaster Co., PA in the heart of Amish country! I am 60 now. Phila.  I love my little birds here which I feed w/ 3 feeders out, and a lovely cement bird bath, which some of you have read about! I have a nice little vgarden which I have only had to water 3xs myself so far this summer because of all the rain here! I started most of my veg, plants by seed excepting the tomatoes and 4 of the pepper plants. I also have some more baby pepper plants to go in that I did start from seed.  I plan to do more fall vegetables this year again, such as gourds & pumpkins, acorn squash.  Good luck everyone w/ their gardens this upcoming growing season!

Hi Margba:  It is always good to hear your comments.  Without comments I wouldn't know if my posts are worthwhile or appreciated and would probably stop them.  I'm not sure if I'll be able to post the daily ones after the 14th for 2 weeks as I'll be going on a trip with my son.  He'll have his PC and maybe I can slip them in then.   We'll see.  If anyone comments why I'm not posting in those 2 weeks, perhaps you can enlighten.....them with my "Thanks!".

Iˆlive in Central Alabama. The hummingbirds are here but they are few in numbers right now. There are some nesting bluebirds in the back yard. I own a small remodeling business and when I have some cedar left off the job I like to build bluebird houses with the scrapes.

I just read your profile and we are very similar,I too tried the pepper plants and pumpkins last year however it never rained and we ended up in an agricultural disaster situation and nothing grew even all the farmers got nothing. My pumpkin was almost 1/4 inch big HA ha, I am going to try again this year and hope for rain. Don't want to water to much as our water bills add up fast and I live on a fixed diss budget. If I pick the send a message-does it go to you or on the forum?  Take care Deb.

How did your pumpkins turn out? I red your profile and found it interesting. You can check out my profile and maybe click on where it says to see my yard.  Thanks. Have a great day. Rick
