About Me

I live of 5+ acres in NW Georgia. Life here is slower and simpler. Just the way I like it.  Birding is truly my passion right up there with my 2 grown children and one wonderful granddaughter. Gardening is another pleasure I enjoy.  So, I put the two together and Garden for the Birds and Wildlife....of course humans get to enjoy it also.:)

I would like to invite you to visit  http://www.purplemartins.com/RTC/index.php where I am a Moderator of the Birds of A Feather Forum. I might add that this site is a wonderful resource for those who are Purple Martins landlords or wannabees plus there is also an outstanding section of forums for Bluebirders.

You know, I signed up for that martin site some time ago and the admins still haven't added me to it.  You might look into that for me!  Same user name.

Hi Jean,

This is now my third message I have sent with this subject. It is always a great subject to use because that is what we usually talk about and sometimes some other things.

Anyway, Kristen helped me a lot with my problems. I have invited her as a friend.

I am happy to be back!

What should we talk about? You can pick.

Hi Girl, my first visit in quite awhile, so new and hard to understand this board.

I've had two hatches from  one pair and there looking to nest again ,I'm surprise

about the success rate on these birds. From the first hatch they had 5 ,I've only seen two of the babies ,on the second hatch 5 eggs and again after returning only one baby to be seen.    I'm doing fine here in this hot state , and watching birds all the time. I have a second set  of Martins babies are about to leave the nest box.  My first set had 6 hatches, what a site they all looked like females.  Catch you later. Laura
