What do I say....
Born & educated in England.
Moved with parents to Canada as an early teen.
At the local university, I met husband to be, and we have now been married 35 years.
In 1984, I stopped moving to each location where husband worked and we had our present home built in the country, but within city limits. That means, city ammenities. ;-)
We have two sons who have recently moved back home. That pleased me immensely. Two sons I am extremely proud of: one graduated from computer programming, the other from multimedia!
I loved being a stay at home Mother. As all of the school buses dropped off at our corner, our home was the unofficial drop in centre of the neighbourhood.
As the boys outgrew their reliance upon Mother to drive them to nightly & some early morning activities - me - Mother, suddenly found herself without a life of her own.
Then there was a hectic period of night classes, job interviews, craft activities, trips, 'the let's do lunch circuit' - you name it, sort of thing.
As both boys are educated in computer fields, computers were standard for our household. When my typewriter could no longer be repaired they insisted I use one of their older computers.
With the words, there is nothing you can do to a computer that one or the other of us can't fix ..... the world opened up at my fingertips!
No one realized the addiction they were instigating.
At the same time my boredom was channelling my abundance of spare time into my hobbies. As I overeducated, overshopped and overproduced, one hobby: stained glass, grew into selling supplies and finished items.
A small home based business, at first, until we realized we did not like the public intervention into our private life.
Now I have a stained glass retail studio in the city.
Although I, in theory, work full time, I still have lots of time to enjoy life and play!
