In Oregon you may well have hummingbirds all winter.

I wish ours were still here, Missouri. I started watching birds a few years back and got such a kick watching them. And then there is the Squirrels. Some of the atics they pull on each other is outrageous.
Squirrels are fun to watch, we have a bungy which we attach an ear of corn on and then sit back and watch the fun.
When I lived in Md. I use to sit out side and shell peanuts to put in a feeder, one day as I was sitting there shelling the peanuts I just felt like there was something in my presence, I guess you may of had that experience before, any way I looked over to my left and there was this squirrel sitting about 2 feet away, doing that begging act, so I picked up a nut and turned towards it, it sort of scampered away some then, little by little it came near again so I tossed it to him and off it went, this went on every time I would go outside and just sit and relax, as time went on the squirrel would get bolder and eventually would just come up and take the nut from my hand and run away with it, the strange part is that it would take it from my grand daughter, but only if I was there, so it went with my wife, then "he" showed up with a couple little guys, guess he was a she, she would take the nut about four feet from me and put it on the ground for the babies to eat and she would sort of stand guard.
