But they do! They really do! I saw it on Modern Marvals a minute ago. They were showing how to cook them. They call them turkey fries. I've heard of Rocky Mountain Oysters. I knew bulls had testicles. Guess I really never thought about it. Do all fowl and birds have testicles?
I think I may bring it up at dinner, too.
Birds don't have external sex organs! They only have a vent! Only during breeding season will the male's vent extend and swell and that is in the spring - not this time of the year!
So that does not make sense to me - someone's leg is getting pulled!
LOL....something to ponder...and discuss over dinnet?...HAHAHA....and also learn more about "the vent"....Verwy Intorwesting
You must have missed my post about the Turkey Testicle Festival in Ill. and yes I did the research because Giddy thought I was having a prank pulled on me.
YES, turkeys do have testicles, they are inside the body cavity up next to their kidneys. I also found out that turkey testicles are the Rolles Royce of Testicles, I also saw where people eat duck and sheep testicles. If I can find the post I will bump it up. The festival was last night.
Now this should make for an enlightening dinner conversation - especially with your guests. Have you thought about how you might explain this to the younger kids at the table? Ha! They probably know more about life than the adults!!
Perhaps if we weren't so well fed, we might appreciate any 'oyster' but we've become pretty picky. I hope times don't change and we have to lower our standard of eating! Be interesting to hear how your guests responded to this question...............Elaine
I didn't believe it, but I found this ...
LOL!!! I had a feeling this post was from you!
I had never heard that before but it does make sense (I think). I would love to hear that conversation when you serve that bird! LOL
When I sit down to eat I will chuckle to myself when I see the turkey on the table!
Let every day be a good day!
Several local bars serve them frequently.
A picture is worth a 1000 words I guess.
Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear to be bright until you hear them speak.
I heard about the testicle festival. LOL
fowl have internal testicles, located near the kidneys. Just think how close those things are to your giblets.Hahahahaaaaaa
I know this because my dad and brothers hunted fowl, pheasant, wild turkey, goose, quail, etc.
This sort of talk amused my brother when he was a teenager. LOL
OMG.. that pic is disturbing. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I might pass on the turkey today. Bring on the brussel sprouts!
The pic looks like they're pure meat.
1000 words...OMG~~~~~Yuck...does that mean we need to check the inside cavity for 3 bags instead of 2....
