Like I said in my earlier post, I had to go shopping not to think of my poor puppy getting neutered today.  I got the H2O mop.  My DD drove me crazy this week saying I MUST get it.  She swears by it and now with the dog she says that I will love it.  It apparently does a great job.  My DD is the type of person that digs deep into a product before buying it.  This one she said is absolutely fantastic.

Have any of you bought one and what is your opinion.  Does it do a good job?  Thanks any input will be fun.  It won't when I try it and I don't like it.....LOL

Stella,

I have one (Shark) and it works great-I used it the kitchen.  The pads that come with it can be washed in the machine but don't use bleach or fabric softner and handg to dry.

I put it together and tried it out.  Love it.  I can't believe how well it works.  My DD kept after me to get one.  Boy am I ever glad I did.  I sent your a real nice email for nagging me.  At least the nagging paid off........LOL

I can't believe how clean the floor gets by using this machine.  Who would have thought that steam would do such a good job.  I also like the fact that I used vinegar.  Someone else appreciates it....my DH.  He has problems with his sinus and can't stand when I use strong solutions on the floors.  Loved smelling the vinegar.  Ok, I did not measure it so it was a bit too strong.  Next time I will use only 1/3 cup.  I recommend this product strongly.

I have a Shark steam cleaner.  It came with two pads, I use one for the kitchen and one for the bathrooms. I have had the cleaner over a year and love it, my kitchen floor is really old and I was surprised at how well the steam cleaner works. The one thing I had to remember is you have to wear shoes when you use the cleaner. I have only ever used the steam to clean, no solutions.

Stella, what is the vinegar for?  I’m open to new ideas.

GramEmery is correct, I bought one late last summer & love it.  I have rough floors and it cleans them as well as the hands & knees method, if not better.  Probably better. I'd debated for a long time if I should get one & then one day in the SuperStore I came across a 50% off sale & got mine for less then $50.  I bought 2 extra pads @ $15 for the pair, just in case I couldn't find them when I needed to replace the originals.

My instructions say not to use cleaners in the water so I haven't used anything but a bit of vinegar would be OK.  I think.

Now I'm on the lookout for a hand-held steam cleaner for my baths & showers.  We have hard water at the farm and soap leaves a sediment and I'm always fighting calcium deposit.

The vinegar was not my idea, but it came with the instruction on the H2O mop steam cleaner.  You have to use 1/3 of a cup of vinegar and the rest water.  Funny that your product did not say to use vinegar.

My DD just emailed me and she has the same product as I do, and she never read the pamphlet that came with the mop.  So I wrote her what it said on the pamphlet.

I think it's a good idea that they tell you to use vinegar as it's an antibacterial natural food I guess you would call it.  So this is where I got the idea, from the company.

I have the Bissell Green Tea steam mop and it's wonderful--the mop swivels, which helps to get into corners, etc.  It's awesome!!  I use water only....

I've never used one...but I have seen two floors in homes I cleaned marked by letting it "set"....I don't know how they did it...as I don't use it...but that's what they told me.

You're right, JBirdsgirl, my instructions say not to let it sit in one spot for 20-30 seconds as it may mark the floor. (loosen glue, too) My mop is triangular in shape and swivels.  It's easy to get in corners. There was also a stand included that I can put it on to rest.

I have a large rug inside my back door and the mop did a great job of cleaning it, too.

Thanks!...I didn't want to be the only downer...LOL  Neither of them "knew"...I'm assuming didn't read the paper work....20 to 30 seconds is not very long!...like moving something!

So ENJOY but be careful!  :0)

If your mop didn't come with a 'holder', it might be wise to keep a  mat near-by in case you need to leave the steamer unattended.  Perhaps a thick kitchen mat w/ rubberized backing would work?
