I ordered my geranium seeds yesterday because they take so long to put them out around here and I want to get them started next month. Boy, will I have to do some re-arranging! Would love to have a grow light but don't know if I can fit one in my budget or not.

I have all of my flower seeds ordered and in now. Way too many I might add! I still have to order the vegetable seeds but I am waiting for my customers to give me their lists of what varieties and how many plants they want. Next month I will start the geranium seeds, from Jan on it will be an almost weekly thing.

Have my geranium seed and stainglass flower seed.  Also some from the seed swap.  Will be ordering aroung the first of the year.  Will start geraniums next month also.

Growlights check garage sales etc. for shop lights that hold 4' bulbs them the only real cost is the bulbs themselves.  I made a hanger for them out of 1/2" galvanized pipe.  Could also use PVC.

I have used hooks in the ceiling of my shop and chain on the lights. Then you can raise and lower them as needed.

I never order seeds as I rarely have any luck with them.  Molly I got a catalog from Logees & Am getting ready to order some plants from them.  Either tonight or tomorrow.  Three houseplants, a camellia & some Oleander.  All on sale.

Oh Gayle, what varieties did you order?  My checkbook is on a diet until I get the gas into the greenhouse so I will just look and drool for awhile on them.

Gayle, I used to say the same thing until I came here.  Last year Molly and others give me great advice along the way both from here and email.  It was wonderful not having to invest a lot in annuals this year and I was transplanting them into July.  I'll definitely be doing it again this year.

A warning though, it is very addicting once you have successes.

I'm not Gayle but I ordered the Maverick Collection, Bull's Eye mix and Black Velvet in the rose color. Won't be able to order anything else for awhile but needed to see something growing! Have lots of houseplants but it's not the same.

I don't order mine until after the hoidays...and then I get VERY serious about it.  I have many of my own seeds, but I always order more...more is better right??  LOL  I hear you, Sue, about the rearranging to make room for plants.  I can't hang lights from the ceiling because I have shelves loaded with plants all the way to the ceiling...I seem to find room for more every year.  Sue if you would like some easy seeds to experiment with this winter, I would be happy to send you some.  Charlene

About the only thing I have success with during the winter are geraniums. You wouldn't happen to have any passion vine seeds would you? Thanks for asking! Would you believe that I do not have one window facing south, it was the only place we could put a garage.

Hiker, you are not alone. The only place I could put my house was with the south end facing the pine woods, there is never any sun on that end and no windows on that end of the house either.

Sunshine I keep trying & one of these days I'll get it right.  Some varieties do fine such as Zinnia, MGs, Moonflowers, 4 o'clocks, most veggies, & cosmos come to mind.  I plant these right in the ground.

OK after reading this post . . I think I want to grow some geraniums too!  Where is a good place to order the seeds from?  This is probably a dumb question but is any color and/or variety easier to grow than another?

Thanks all so much!
