Just finished watching some of my favorite birds feed.

Black-capped chickadees, I love these friendly little guys.

Had at least 6 of them flitting back and forth to the feeders and shrubs.

They are a high energy bird.

Love the Junco's . . the dark gray against the white.  Smart too!

Chickadees and cardinals.  Chickadees have much energy and are always flitting back at forth at one feeder or the other.  I have 6 feeders or so up now.  Most are all filled at the time being.

Let every day be a good day!

I don't have any winter birds back yet except for the house finches, once the snow comes I get the juncos and different woodpeckers.

My favorite is the cardinal.  I have lots of chickadees, juncos, and tufted titmice, but only one pair of cardinals at the moment.

I love spotting Northern Flickers. So colorful, they remind me of clowns for some reason!

Swallows, swallows, and more swallows.  Love those birds.  The only problem is that they leave us for warmer climates and come back around April 15h or so.  Unfortunately after our terrible ice storm in 1999, I find that there are fewer and fewer each year.  I am in zone 4/5.  Has anyone noticed that?

So many birds offer us great joy, the bright red of cardinals, the flight of swallows, the magic of hummingbirds and so on.

I appreciate the courage and parenting skills of robins.

But, Chickadees are year round friends and so trusting and friendly.

Besides, they are so darn cute.

This is a real toughie.  My wife's favorite is the American Avocet.  Mine probably the tufted titmouse which we don't have here.  There are quite a bunch that come in a close second though.

I don't have a favorite bird, but if I had to choose right off the bat, I would pick Cedar Waxwing for backyard birds.

I'd say with out a doubt the house wren I just love the way they move around so quickly. Which has prevented me from getting it's picture

Oh my so many to choose from...I would say 1st is the Carolina Wren. They come to my feeders and make alot of noise between the singing and the scolding. 2nd I would have to say the Cedar Waxwing. They have great markings and look like bandits.

I will have to say a Hummingbird. Physically, they are such tiny birds, but have an attitude of an Eagle. I mean, what is not to like about a bird that can fly in all six directions and be flying but not moving! Shazaam!

The Eastern Bluebird is my favorite.  They are so very beautiful and also have lovely songs.   I really enjoy watching them during nesting season.  Last year I finally saw them "wing wave".Big Smile
