Well when I got home and drove up the drivway I notice The Vacuum cleaner was on the front lawn. After 12 years she had it. I told her to get rid of it years ago. It would suck up the dust at one end and blow it out the other end.LOL. Well bad timing a month before christmas

LOL.....Gary I have had at least a half a dozen of those things in the past three years....LOL  I guess your DW should get a new one.   My husband shakes his head and tells my son that when I die, he is gonna have a vacuum cleaner head stone  on my grave, for he says that is what I enjoy best....vacuum cleaning....LOL.

I understand completely.  One year my Uncle bought my Aunt an appliance for her birthday.  She didn't say much about it but when his birthday came around she bought him a step on trash can.  That ended that theme of gifts.

Gary the V cleaner we have now is a Panasonic upright and we love it.

Hey I got a hot water heater once for our Anniversary, but those were the days when money was really tight and we spent all our savings on that.  Later on that day we went to an opening of a Safeways store and my husband guessed the number of jelly beans in the jar correctly and won a waffle maker.  He was so proud to give it to me for our Anniversary.  I still have it and still use it. It is  almost 45 years old. Everytime I use it I think of "those" days.

If "THE HOUSE" needs a gift, buy it for the HOUSE, but not for your wife!  Many angry housewives complain about that one   :)

Singleblossom, most of us ladies here can agree w/ you on that one! lol!  This thread ought to be called "how to not make dw angry w/ what you give her for birthday or Christmas"!  Long title I know but I'm sure we could figure out how to abbrev it better!

Speaking of vacuum cleaners........the other day I mentioned to DH that our Hoover vacuum was now 25 yrs old.  His response to me was "but I can count the number of times you've used it on 1 or 2 hands !". That's not exactly true ! I told him to count the toes on my feet too ! LOL ....I can't help it...I hate house cleaning and vacuums really suck !!  LOL Besides, he's NEVER used the darn thing in our 25 yr marriage....so, there !!!!
