What bird is this?

I have looked thru all of my birding books, but I cannot determine what type of bird this is. He spent a week or so in my backyard in Pensacola, Florida.

 

Please help.

This looks like a fairly common "pet bird" or "caged bird" in North America.   I am not sure where you are.  If this photo was taken in the wild in North America, it is most likely an escaped pet.

Yes, that is an escaped red-headed finch...they are originally from Africa.

Its a Spice Finch. I thought they were pet birds in the US but I'm not sure.  Link to some info.

I agree with your id entirely Kim and yes, they are pet birds in the US.
