Hello,

I have grown plenty of the autumn clematis from seeds.  However, I haven't tried to grow any of the other types of clematis that I have.  I will have to check my clematis, and see if there is still any seed pods left .  Will try to remember to plant some in the spring.

We also live in zone 5 , in Indiana .

I tried...got nothing...but I"m told that it can take a couple years for the seed to germinate and grow.  I'm not sure though.

it takes 62 to 167 days for a clemtis to sprout andgow ,you just plant the brown part and leave the rest showing , if you want it for next spring and to have it flower for you ,you need to plant it now ,

I researched planting clematis from seed.  It not only takes a long time to germinate, but also must have "cold" treatment as well.  You can do this in the frige or plant outside.  I planted outside.  We'll see what happens.  I think I'll try some inside as well.

OH that's good to know . . . I will do that this weekend!   So they should be in the fridge for a week and no longer then?

I got some in a train .... can't wait hardly!

Lets forget about the holidays and just jump to say March 2010!!  Stick out tongue
