I just read this online on our local news............Great........just what we need ... no rain.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Federal weather forecasters predict the unusually hot dry weather that has gripped much of the nation will linger into fall, especially for the parched heartland.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's outlook for August through October shows that nearly every state likely will have hotter than normal temperatures. Much of the Midwest is likely to be drier than normal, too.

The forecast, issued Thursday, indicates a high probability for little rain for all or parts of 15 states for August. The region encompasses Illinois, Indiana, Missouri and Iowa and the states generally surrounding them. The outlook improves a bit over three months, shrinking to just eight states.

Above normal rainfall is forecast for New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Utah and parts of Nevada and southern California through October.

Hi Sharon !

Let's just hope that their long range forecast is wrong.....it wouldn't be the first time ! But it would be nice for the states like Colorado that are having wild fires to get more rain in the near future.

Do you think this dry hot weather has to do with Global Warming.....some people/experts claim that it's a myth...but I'm not sure...I heard someone at work say that this high heat is caused by the solar flares on the Sun. I guess everyone has their own theory.

Stay cool !

Hugs !

Oh, geez! We haven't had a decent rain since early May. Went out front to put out Nyger seed and the grass under my feet went " scrunch, scrunch". Anymore of this and our whole area is going to burst into flame! It's horrible.

Grass is crispy, crunchy here, too.  We had a shower earlier and now has stopped.  Not enough water to do any good.  I watered this morning, but would like to see an all day rain.  We had an inch of rain Sunday so that was better than nothing.  Had to fill the birdbath today as all was evaporated.

I hate to have hot stuff through fall, so hope they are wrong.

Let every day be a good day!
