I seem to be sleeping later every day. Need to get myself into a routine again.  It is supposed to be hotter and muggier today so it won't be pleasant working outside but there are things that have to be done. Number one will be mowing the hay in my lawn. Not a whole lot going on in my corner of the world these days. That is a good thing I guess. I need to get to the grocery store early, am out of milk and that is a disaster for me I also need to get gas for the mower.. On my way back in I will stop across the road and get some cukes, eggs and corn. I have all of the drinks ready and some frozen Snickers in the cooler. I never did get to pick blackberries yesterday and doubt I will do it today either...the lawn won't wait another day or I will hear it from my neighbor. Have a great day everyone I hope you who need rain gets some (including me) and you who have too much will send some our way.

Morning, well so far no rain (none yesterday but sure did rain all around me).  Didn't get here yesterday as I went and got blood work done before I had my morning coffee, went and met 7 of my friends for breakfast before they headed down to a gathering going on this weekend at my friend's new house and then decided forget what I "need" to get done, I haven't joined in for 8 years (along with another girl who drove 6 hours down from Michigan) so spent my day hanging with my girls and acting silly and just having a good time and didn't get home til late and was pooped.  Can't remember the last time I missed a day on the board. They are wanting me down there today but not sure I will go or not.  Have tons of laundry, want to run to Lex for a couple things, Steve is wanting to put trim around my porch posts but I'm still thinking maybe I should go on down there this afternoon and spend the last night with them.  Decisions decisions.  No matter what I'm doing I need to get up and get motivated since I've been awake since 6 this morning, I have yet to sleep in one single day since on vacation and today and tomorrow is all that is left (boohoo).  Everyone have a great day.

Good morning, Molly and all. I need to mow also today, but first I think I will go to Lowe's and get the waterseal for the deck. Maybe by the time I get the lawn done, the deck will be dry enough. Hope to at least get the floor part done, as I can do that with the sprayer. I will probably use a brush for the railing, though, so might not get that finished. It will only be 90 today, a little warmer than yesterday, but not like it was a week ago. I need to get some groceries too, but will get the other things done first. As long as I have coffee, creamer and sweetener in the house I will survive.

Hope the rain we had this week heads on to those who need it now. I need a few clear days to get the deck done.

Del...for crying out loud GO be with your friends. The work will be there when you get back but they won't be there tomorrow. You are on Vacation so do something you want to do not what you have to do.

I know you are right Molly, we sure had fun yesterday just being kids again and acting stupid, I may just have to go run my errands, get the dogs fed and nestled down for the night or see if Steve will keep them for me but I'm sure they'll be okay and go join them.  There were originally 8 of us that made up the "Hill Sisters", how we got the name was this weekend every year we'd leave the husbands, kids and cares behind and go camp down at the lake meeting and eating breakfast and making a caravan down to the camp ground.  We got to be known down there and they would go rope off a section for us as they said we were good for business as all the guys would want to camp that weekend but we wouldn't allow them in our campsite or go boating with them, etc. LOL  We all took country names (me being Flossie) and we'd make hats or bring silly things and just cut loose!  LOL  The group has grown and I may call the only one of the original 8 and see if she won't meet me and me and her just show up later this afternoon so us original 8 are together again for the first time in a LONG time (probably 9-10 years).  Steve took a pic for us before I left last night, yep, its a gang of girls (I'm on the far right behind the girl in the red shirt.

Del life is too short to miss out on something like that! Go and be silly and have fun, you have earned that.

Good morning. We were down to 66° last night. I know a lot of you have been needing rain. Well you should be here this morning. We have been having heavy rains and some thunder. Finally in the last few minutes the rains have let up a bit. Today guess I won't be doing anything here other than watching it rain and maybe wash a few clothes and then this afternoon its back to work. Thankfully inventory is over now and today things get back to normal which means I'll have a little help at work. Other than that not much going on here. Have a great day and Deloris go play with your friends while you have a chance to.

Good morning everyone. It is 72*, cloudy and we did have a little rain early this morning. We have a 60% chance of scattered t-storms fkor tokday, so hope we get more rain. Going to an auction so gardening for me today.

Del, for crying out loud, go have fun, this is something that is done once a year. Go and enjoy. We were suppose to have a reunion for our class of '64 (Catholic school grads), alsthough i never graduated with them but they didn't have enough people to come so was cancelled.

Everyone have a great day today.

Good morning, all!  Sun is shining brightly after a day and night of good slow rain!  What a blessing!

Skip, I agree with Molly.  You definitely need to go have fun with your friends.  THAT is what true kids would do....LOL.......so give yourself the freedom to do that! Especially since it is your last couple days off work!  And make sure you turn your alarm off and SLEEP IN tomorrow morning! LOL!

I knew there was a reason we connected so well...... my dear grandma on my dad's side was named Flossie......she passed away before I was born, but she was a wonderful woman from what I hear.

Hope you get to enjoy your day with the girls....

Molly, don't get too hot out there, hope the rain we had is coming your way.....and  by the way, Del, it is crazy that you haven't had rain.......we got really good soaking...I am so thankful....

Leslie....I am like you, if I have my coffee and creamer in the house I am good to go....LOL......

I think we are off to Cracker Barrel for breakfast and then I am going to pick up my DGS that turned 5 yesterday and keep him at least overnight.  will take him shopping for his bday.  His party is not til next Friday due to the splash pool being double booked......

Everyone have a great day!

Good morning everyone....rain all the way around us yesteday and last night, but nothing here....watering goes on!  Today is supposed to be hot, but bearable....and then it's back into the upper 90s or warmer....UGH.

Del...for the love of God....go and have fun with your friends and don't even think twice about what you "should" be doing at home.  It is your vacation and you need to enjoy yourself!  They look like a fun bunch of gals.  I'd go if it were closer....and I don't even know them....lol

I was here yesterday morning but unable to get back until now.  DGS was supposed to stay here for a couple of hours last night while his family went out to dinner.  He managed to convince me to let him stay over and sleep with Grandma (I couldn't refuse those big blue eyes and him saying "Please Grayma?")  He was awake at 5:30am, but he has gone home now because I have to get cleaned up and go into work for a couple of hours.  I have a customer dropping off a hideabed and another picking up a chair.

Have a great Saturday everyone....no mowing needed here.  DH has mowed once since before Memorial Day and that was just a quick run around to cut off the tall weeds.  I don't think I've ever seen the clover so dead before....guess it isn't dead....just dormant....but it sure is ugly and hurts the feet when barefoot.

Charlene you would fit right in with us too!  Actually quite a few of you would. LOL  So, I've went and dug out my old Hill Sister/Flossie t-shirt, my homemade crown we made I bet a good 10-12 years ago (paper and we glued stuff all over them LOL) and have to say its not in that bad of shape, just the feathers flew everywhere that I had glued on it. HAHA - campground owner way back when said they were burger king crowns hehe I cut them out of poster board. LOL  I whipped out my big red hat and blinking cup, gotta go run a few errands and wait for my laundry to dry and get the other load in so I have clothes to wear, feed the dogs and this afternoon I'll be MIA again cause I'm heading back down and spending the night.  They're gonna be blown away when I pull up.  I even found my old "skippy" license plate to put on my car. HAHA  The girl whose house we are having this at  (as we are too old to camp anymore although some are sleeping in a huge camper) nicknamed me Skippy Del 15 years ago and had that Skippy plate made for me, she's gonna trip out I still have it in pristine condition.  So yep, you all have pushed me in the right way to go on and join in the fun, one of us might not be around next year so why not celebrate friends and life today!

Good morning all.  A beautiful morning it is.  We got a nice rain last evening and everything is still nice and wet.  Not for long though, I'm sure.  It is to be very hot later.  I just cleaned the birdbaths and refilled them.  Took a nice walk about the gardens.  Other than a few things showing some stress from the heat, things are still looking pretty good.  The Sunshine Daydream helianthus  that Charlene gave me when she visited last year as a nice bud on it.  I can't wait til it blooms.

I must have done a good job preparing that little new bed to plant the zinnias becuase I now have to thin them for a third time.  I think I'll put some in the front on the corner of the bed.  It will look pretty next to the birdbath.  And, that way it will be sure to get water.  The plants may suffer, but the birds always get fresh water. lol

Late this afternoon I'm going to my sister's for BIL's and Mom's birthdays.  She is having a bunch of other people for her summer gathering as well.  Since the sun cooks her patio, she's having it so the sun is on the other side of the house.  She has a nice backyard with some nice containers with mostly impatiens.  Unfortunately, the patio get's the best sun and there is no chance  that will be anything but a patio. lol

Hope everyone has a great day.

Wow, I was posting while you all were posting.

No mowing here either Charlene.  The garden guy said this morning not to because it will stress the grass out more.  That's all I needed to hear. lol

Del, hope you have a wonderful time with your friends.  I'm sure you will be so very happy you went.

Good morning!  I'm later getting here than I planned because I got swept up in outdoor "stuff" when I went outside to hang my garden hummingbird feeder.  It was supposed to get cleaned and hung last night, but DH surprised me by taking me out to dinner and I totally forgot about the feeder.  It didn't matter too much, I had already cleaned and hung the other two before we left.

Since it was so gorgeous this morning, I ended up deadheading the things in my pots, checking on my cyress vine, and weeding in the veggie garden.  I was left with the sure knowledge that I have made the right choice to container garden with my veggies next year.  There's no way I can do what will need to be done next year after my surgery, and to be honest, I don't think I'd want to if I could.  I'm tired of the fight with weeds, and the bed just isn't big enough to make the effort worth my while.  I did get a fun little surprise though.  The brussel sprouts that I didn't get anything from last year because I planted so late, went to seed before I could dig it up.  I found a number of baby brussel sprouts coming up on their own.  I'll never get anything from them this year, and I learned my lesson in letting them stay in the ground until spring (stems are too thick and hard to remove).  But I think this has left me wondering about my connection to brussel sprouts.  Should I just give up or keep trying.  I'm a keep trying kind of gal, so I guess I will find out next year if one can successfully grow  brussel sprouts in a container.

Much to my regret, it seemed as though the prickly, crappy weeds managed to wedge themselves right next to a number of my veggies.  Mostly, I was able to get them up without too much damage.  I did, however, up-end a cabbage plant that was finally looking decent.  We didn't get the rain we were supposed to get overnight, so the ground was pretty dry and hard.  It took some doing, but I finally figured out the perfect place for the sprinkler so I wouldn't have to sit outside holding the hose while everything got the water it needed.  I sure hope it was in the perfect place.  Guess I will find out when I head back out there.  If I was wrong, I'll either have to move the hose - AGAIN, or give in and hold the hose for a while.

Be careful mowing today, Molly.  I see that you are already in the 80s.  I hope you can get at the lawn before it gets much warmer.

Deloris, I am so happy you decided to go visit with your friends.  I agree with what all the others have said.  You deserve to take the time for yourself.  That is what vacations are supposed to be about.    Can't wait to hear that you had a ball!!!

Good luck with your deck, Leslie!  Sounds like a big project.

I think you've been the lucky one, Steve, to have gotten rain.  Granted, a nice steady rain would have been better than a heavy rain, but you still got the rain.  Ought to do wonders for your flowers and veggies.

Eva, I'm sorry you weren't able to have your class reunion.  DH recently got a notice that his grade school class is getting together soon.  He's really looking forward to that.  I would too, if my class was getting together.  Maybe another time it will work out for your class.

Hope you enjoyed your breakfast this morning, Razz.  Shopping with, and for, your DGS ought to be a lot of fun.  That was always a big deal for me and my grandma.

Charlene, I can see how it would be hard to resist big blue eyes and a cutie-pie grandson.  You seem to be keeping busy in the shop.  I know that is a good thing, but I would imagine it does cut down on your garden play time.  I hope you are just as busy this winter!

Glad to hear that you also got rain, Wendy.  Since the temps are on the rise, every little bit helps.  Good luck with your zinnias.  I didn't get any of my big ones planted this year, but I do have some liliputs getting ready to bloom in a large dish on the patio.  Hope mine do as well as yours.

Have a good day everyone!
