I can hardly wait.  Tonight it is baby beets and tops from the garden, lettuce salad from the garden, meat patties and gravy and baby potatoes.

3-11 week at work. I made a huge salad with lettuce and cherry tomatoes from the garden, plus some Farm Market onions. Spaghetti too!

Welcome back Gran. Hope you had nice weather.

We had a terrible storm on Friday afternoon - lightening, thunder and hail. But then the sun came out and dried everything up and it was a beautiful weekend after that. Got lots of work done.

Gary when have you ever listened to don't make a mess in the kitchen?  LOL

We are having spaghetti and meatballs tonight which would be great but had no homemade spaghetti sauce so bought some.  Am still trying to doctor it enough to make it edible.  I think they put the whole sugar jar in it.  Very sweet.  Live and learn.

DB is having left over spaghetti sauce from last night.  Their wasn't enough meatballs left for him so cooked up some ground meat to go with the meat balls and made a meat sauce.  I am having shrimp scampi over rice.  No I don't deprive him of the good stuff he just won't eat it.  Cooking some extra rice and just made some brown sugar so will have dessert later of rice with butter and brown sugar.  An old dessert when I was growing up and times were tough.

Tonight the microwave meal is Stouffers Beef and Noodles. I did buy some locally grown tomatoes over the weekend so I will have one of those sliced with vinegar and oil.

Can't wait til I'm on daylight next week so I can cook veges from the garden. Wonder if I could steam snow peas in the microwave?

Bette, we always had cold cooked rice with sugar and cream for a dessert. My GM boiled it until it was sticky. Yum!

I cheated to night. On the way home from buying paint at Home Depot we topped at Swiss  Chalet and I got wings, baked potatoes, rolls, gravy.  (I actually had that planned and delayed going to Home Depot until later this afternoon.

It is so hot today.  We are now at 36c which is about 102 F, so wasn't in the mood to cook. I do enough of that in the winter.

I like the way you think Maxine. LOL  And I don't blame you, your always cooking and not just crap but the good stuff, you deserve a break and especially with the heat.  Welcome to our world, thought I'd just keel over last week at 105 for days.  Just one-half inch of rain actually took a lot of the brown away from my yard (but nice I don't have to mow it in the heat) but I'm so TIRED of watering everything which is why me (and thankful for the help of neighborboy on the last of the load) of chipped honey locust branches I got today to get them all back in place on the garden.
