Good morning. Well, everything is set for DW's knee replacement Tuesday. We spent 5 hours yesterday having a stress test done. It took longer than usual as the cardiology people were tied up with another patient.
Gonna be hot right on through all of next week for sure, it looks like.

Good morning all going out to weed before it gets to hot again. I think I can make it till noon doing things outside and then look out for it will be hot all week here too. No rain I wish it would soon though. Pulled up all the broccilii plants because they taste bitter to hot and they are blooming as soon as they set a head. Didn't get much this year from them like other years so think I will try a fall crop and hope for the best. Watering is a everyday thing now just a different area. They said our town wells dropped alot so we will see how soon we are rationed. Plants here look like it is the end of August instead of the end of June. Potatoes are drying up so have been digging some to eat already and they are pretty nice size not alot under them but will feed us all through the winter for sure. Tomatoes are ripening so ate some of those and trying to keep ahead of the squash bugs so I can get some zuccine but they are starting to win the battle for I don't use any insectide on my garden so out with the flour I go this morning.
LeRoy I am glad your wife stress test turned out good. Wish here luck with her surgery. What hospital is she having it done at in Omaha?
Lair My prayers are with Tim and you in this time. Glad you got some rain maybe it will back track and we can get some too. That is a big kitchen you have nice. it is as big as my kitchen, den and living room put together Glad you could cool it off and relax in there during this heat.
Carol You better watch Ray in this heat it is not fun at all. About had it a work with it all and looks like another week or two for us they say. I bet you are having a good time in the pool i think I am going to find a water tank to fill up and sit in. Coons have found the sweet corn so electric fence has to be made around the patch. So will be doing that this weekend.
Sandy Good for your Granddaughter and nice for the sponsors to do that. Stay cool also and sorry about having to take the crab tree down. Maybe it will sprout from the base and you could train up another branch to make a tree or did you dig it all out or you could have it be a crab apple shrub.
My DS is liking the job but is lonesome until he makes new friends so trying to keep him upbeat and talk to him every night. I am getting better each day and dealing with it pretty good now only tears every so often now. Keeping really busy so I don't think about it. Thanks for all the writes and concerns for me they are really appreciated from you all. Hope you all have a good day and stay cool and don't overdue in the heat.
Good Morning, I woke up at 5 this morning but decided to stay in bed a little longer. I didn't wake till 9. Seems like the day is half gone. It is 82 and sunny out there but no breeze. It is humid and will be a cooker today when it gets to 95*. I don't have the air on but may think about it, better do that soon. I was busy yesterday with Doctor appointments for Tim. I did real good clustering them so he will go right from one to another and they are all in 2 days. He is feeling real good and has a good attitude about it. His arm didn't bother him at work from the stitches. He will start his chemo on the 12th and we will see how that effects him. They say some don't even get sick from it nowadays.
I was going to weed today since we got a 1/2 inch of rain but with the heat I may not, just some dead heading. I about did myself in on Thursday when I was deadheading some Hostas. A cut my oxygen hose and didn't notice until I got dizzy. I was a long way from the house but I got the cut end in my mouth and made it back in. I usually only do that with the hedge trimmer.
Snow, good to see you back!!! Take it easy in all this heat we are having. It will wear you out quickly. Glad you and your son are adapting to your changes.
Leroy, Glad your wife got good results. I bet you will miss her while she is recuperating. Maybe not at first but I'm sure you will be glad when she comes home.

Sandy, the night owl, I have known people like you but I have always been a morning person. Even as a child I was the first one up in the mornings. Everyone I have ever been with though has been a night person. Made for a lot of quite mornings for me.

Good Afternoon, Another hot day here and it is to be for another week and no rain. Same story with you all, oh Lair you did get a little rain. I was busy this morning watering, running the vaccum in my mud room, and car. Then I worked in the garage for awhile. My son helped clean the pool filter, or I shoud say he did it. Going to take a shower and head out to play some cards at my sisters house. We will be gone until about 8pm. I am hoping Michelle and friends will come over and swim while we are gone.

Snow We always did a fall crop of broccilli. Ray doesn't like the heat and stays inside most of the time, so he is good. We did sit outside for awhile last night, it was about 75* and no humidity. It won't take long and your DS will meet friends, then you may feel even better about his move.
Lair, you need to be careful with your hose, that would scare me. My sister has gone thru chemo 3 times, and with her it was just the first day that was bad. I am agree about night owls, Ray is one, and I am a morning person, I don't wake him, as I too like the peace and quiet.
Sandy, Shopping is OK in this heat its the work thats not good. Good news on your GD, I bet she was thrilled.

Shame about your Broccoli, I hope you have better luck with a fall crop . I was wondering about the kolrobi and if all this heat would effect the taste .My pea's are going rampet but the beans I am just getting a handful a day . I hope the tomatoes get a move on soon .I would so love a tomato sandwich.Glad to hear your talking with your son every night and the days are getting better . I don't know if the tree will come back ,I left about 3 feet of the stump and one part of it had a limb with leaves . Time will tell .Are you getting any kind of relief at work ? Fans anything to keep you guys cooled down in that heat ? Seems to me that the plants would wilt faster then you could water them.

I am not going to tell you that I am sitting here shaking my head about you cutting your air hose ! I am going to tell you that you need to invest in some orange neon colored hose so you will at least see it . Your lucky you didn't pass out ! Good to hear Tim is in high spirits .My sister is one of those that got sick from it , sure hope Tim doesn't .
Now about that night owl stuff , I'm not a night Owl I am a Vampire ( My daughter tells me this ). I sleep till 9 and then get motivated to the kitchen for a cuppa or two .If not I might bite your head off lol. Being diabetic I have to take my meds and do the blood work & eat. Then if I feel like it I may do something ,usually that falls around 1 or 2 pm :-). And in the same repect My RM is a morning person also where he gets the quiet in the morning I get it at night cuz he is in bed before the sun goes down lol..
You can come over vac my car . I have a wedding & family reunion with in the next two weeks and it needs a total detailing . Dang if I knew where you lived I sure would have been in that pool lol. Could have used it tonight after I got done working on that platform .

I waited until the sun went behind the trees and there was a nice breeze blowing .So I got out the tools and went to work . I am not saying I wasn't sweating up a storm but I got all the braces in added the extra two foot to the end to make it long enough. .Wohoo the frame of the platform is done !!!! Oh and RM got the plywood today and I have already painted one side so that will go down tomorrow night & the other side painted . I might even have RM help me haul out the carpet out of the garage to tack down over the plywood . This project will be done by the 4th of July And I will be sitting in that pool cooling off .
