Good morning gang!
I'm going to aim my post at women today...since those of us talking seem to be that...giggle...but if men are silently reading...please read between the lines...and make it work for YOU TOO!
As women...we tend to always be putting others likes and needs first...that's just the way it is...and the more we do for others...the more they/we need to have it done!
But by doing that...what toll are we taking on our own needs? I know we get a fulfillment by nuturing....but WE need nurtued too. Others sometimes even WANT to do more for us...but the "I am WOMAN...I am STRONG" gets in the way.
Sometimes if we would just take the time...even a few minutes...to do something for ourselves...even if it is pre-prep some food!...take a quiet walk....put on some music and dance.....whatever makes YOU happy...sometimes that's all we need to get the energy to nurture above and beyond again.
God gave us this gift to take care of others....but he intended us to allow him to help and take care of ourselves also.
So today...step back for just a few...and think about what you can do to make your healthy journey easier....we have to work on our "mental" also. Again...jot down little ideas if this helps (I'm a visual person)....make plans on how you will try to achieve some "you" time.
When we feel exhausted from lifes journey...OURSELVES ...are the first to suffer....it's who we are...
But we don't have to SUFFER!...find the joy in SOMETHING...and DO IT!
Surprisingly...those who we are nurturing...will actually understand!
This post is aimed towards us all....I read so many stressed filled replies...myself included...it's time we step back...and when we can....MAKE TIME FOR YOU!
HUGS!
But............................................. Linda. Ha! I'm sure you know the buts...............
Was just going to give you a quote that is more on the keeping on keeping on theme.
quote:
"Most people never run far enough on their first wind to find out they've got a second." - William James
Now I'm ready to party. What shall I do? I did have a refreshing shower. I feel what I need is to drive up in the mountain and watch the water run down and feel the cool of the breeze under the trees. Dh doesn't want to and I want him and he's unwell. Shall I just dream???
Isn't it funny BELLE...how your quotes often intertwine w/ my morning thoughts?!?
OK...about that mountain water...running down...the cool mountain breeze w/ the fresh "tingling" air.....
....Remember the peppermint patty commercials???? Take a minute....with your favorite tea in hand...sit back...sip your tea...and "be there". Know the love of your heart needs you in body there right now...but your mind can escape for a few minutes.
HUGS

Listen the odds of me getting here tomorrow are very slim. I missed brag day last month. So I'm gonna brag today. For the month of may and june I've lost a total of 18 lbs. Now grant you some of that loss was because of my ulcer. But I'll take it and run with it......................LOL > I haven't been at this weight since 1985.
AWESOME GABBY!....and thank you...because I wasn't even realising we got to the end of the month!....LOL
I will copy/paste this post into the BRAG DAY post for you!!!!...THAT IS A GREAT BRAG!!!!!
Congrats Gabby. It's such a nice feeling to be accomplishing your goal and wearing your clothes well.
Resa, I know it's so wonderful to see our boys grown up and successful. Love it!!
Linda, I love it that you care so much. I just finished putting the feather stitch around a small quilt. It's such happiness to finish a project!
Hello, Linda-good advice, we all need "pamper days" as someone calls them, i have no alheimers MIL, no diabetic husband to care of and my BP has gone way down to normal after five years. so I'm free as a bird! and enjoy being by myself. Gabby- CONGRATULATIONS, to your success in losing those pounds! been a very hot 104* today,a little cooler tomorrow and 90's all next week, have a nice evening everyone, Mary in Ky 6.44pm
When my nerves are bothering me I go out to my favorite county park and walk a shady trail, after a few minutes I can feel the pressure lifting off of my shoulders. Guess it's like meditating because I take notice of all God's great creation. So peaceful and quiet! Think my scale is beginning to show me going downward a little and I think a lot of it is encouragement from all of you.
Hello Mary and Hiker!...it sounds like you both are doing what it takes to take care of YOU!
See you tomorrow on BRAG DAY!
