Cricket I moved/copied your post to here
HI ALL Veggie Gardeners, since no one started a new one, and it took me a long while to put the infro on this one, here it is still,
Happy Fathers Days and enjoy your day,
We had to unplug the pc, since yesterday late in the evening we had thunderstorm watchin till 2AM, but it started lightening and thundering , so at least the grass and what little garden I have got a plentiful soaking, I had niot gone out there yet, but I can see by the looks of things from the window all is well, and earlier yesterday all my tomatoes have yellow buds on them, that is good they seems to be slow, but I did forget the used coffee grounds on them...
~GW
Way to many hot peppers . That is all I am getting now. I think I need to freeze them till I need them.
Gary a west KY Gardener! (ZONE 6)
Good Morning GARY, and Happy Father's Day to you,,
wow you hot pepper lookin great, my dh just walked in , and he is a hankers for 1 of your hot peppers, lol..
GW , I messed up and mistakenly put this on the ole post ,
so I copied this,
thanks GW, think it may be slow on here today, we may have to BUMP it up later on ,. btw you have a
gardenwayKYz6:so at least the grass and what little garden I have got a plentiful soaking,
We did't get any rain here. We could use a good rain.
UCG (used coffee grounds) - I use in my gardens as soil amendment and also sprinkle on the lawn. I personally don't pay any attention to acid or not acid; once brewed there isn't that much acidity. Are also good to use in compost pile but I don't do a compost pile - don't really have a good spot for one.
Gosh Gary, I feel sorry for you - "way too many hot peppers". lol You are having excellent garden results.
seem Wilderness on the ole post, so I copied it
I haven't been out yet this morning either but will be heading to the big veggie garden to see if I can finally finish planting it. Also need to replant Addison's pumpkins since only one seed germinated out of 15. It is getting late so need to get all this finished.
I did finish building the last tier on the Asparagus box and got another couple of inches of soil onto it now that the asparagus is up. Watered it last night and now as I look out my window the spindly plants stand out real well. Also watered the little veggie garden but looks like the seeds are starting faster than the seed. Seed seems to be germinating very slowly this year.
Gary, we need to get the grub stuff( for Japaneese Bettle eat the grass, ouch , did that one year here already and I had to pull all the ole grass out and luckily had a dumpster from a builder across the street, took forever to get new grass seed & water to get the grass to start) down pronto, then hoped to have the rain water it in, sorry your not getting any rain, will send some UP to you but on Thurs. ok,,

Gary, how long ago did I say that? Presently we are longing for rain. I think we are close to 6" below average rainfall.
Cricket - I sent you a PM
Just came in from the vegge garden. And we do have cukes now. SEE
My cucumbers are just starting to grow but I picked my first pea and ate it yesterday. And I noticed the potatoes were stating to bloom
http://journeysend.yolasite.com/
My garden is really starting to grow but it will be a while until I see any produce. It has been in almost three weeks now. The tomatoes are really growing so I put up the tomato cages today. Peppers are blooming. I will plant another hill of cucumbers next week and more green onions.
Hoping for rain tonight, we really need it too. Otherwise I will be out watering tomorrow.

Well Gary, you just keep having success after success. And to think you started out as a gardener of weeds!! I think that is what you called yourself previously?
Hello all who posted yesterday, and I thank you ,Gardenway for opening yesterday,1st want to apololize for any confusion, as some posted on the previous week's thread., as I was the last one and left some infro on leftover coffee grounds on last page, and wilderness 's post too I c/p'd it to this weeks post. as we are new and few posters, I think I asked but will again,
DO YOU ALL WANT THESE POST TO BE WEEKLY OR BE A CONTINUOUS POST?
PLEASE SAY WHAT YOUR OPINION IS, AS WE ONLY HAVE 5 MOS TILL HARVEST, IT COULD BE ONLY 5 OR SO PAGES, OR IF WE GO WEEKLY ," WHO WOULD START THE POST AT THE BEGINNING OF THE WEEK?" , AND SOME CAN ONLY COME ON ONCE OR NOT EVEN IN THAT WEEK, THIS IS OUR POST, I ONLY STARTED IT AND A NOVICE AT THIS AND AS WELL AS BACK TO DOING VEGETABLES GARDENING.,LAST FEW YRS AT THIS HOUSE..
think it over I vote for continuing, but the majority get it. lol,
I posted some infro on using used coffee grounds at the base of the veggie, it worked great for me last yr, on my cukes and it does have nitrogen, and phostastes and postassium, it was talked about when there was a veggie post 2 yrs ago, and I am sure we all have differnent ways of fertiz, which is what I would like all of your help me out too .....
what kinds of fertiz do you use when you start your veggies in the soil, and what kind there after.?and do you canning any ? I coould go on w. my 20 questions but you know what I think what I am asking? if you don;'t understand me , just holler ok, I am not the best at this...
this is all of YOUR post if you want it be , and I WELCOMERS,
It would be nice to get a good group postings in here, as veggies are so expensive to put food on the table..
Gary thank you for posting on Your Father;s Day, 2 pic's and wow neat Hot peppers, and wow again to what you found, a good size cucumber, and yes, Gary was the weed garder, back aa few yrs ago, Gary if you don';t mind me saying so, and has graduated to be to master gardener, gives Gary a high 5 , Gary has started his plant from seeded, and done a terrific job.
Gardenway, some times I want to address you Kay , think it cause of your username, ,sorry no offense ok,,, thanks for opening on Sunday morning,. for us all,. and I dont take no mind to the acid in the coffee grounds, either, may I ask what kind of fertiz do you use.?
Grannyfarmer what a great pic of your potatoes starting to blooms , how exciting,,, you must have a sandy soil, and your already eating Peas, how nice...

Have a great hot day, and just think it;s helpin the veggies to grow, be careful out in the heat, and yesterday I did water 3 times, I have the hot south sun ..
Sorry Paula, I just went back and was reading some of the posts from last week, and I now see where you said on Saturday to leave off the date if starting a new post on Sunday - I missed that, sorry. (you posted on Sunday before I did and yet you didn't do what you said to do; posted on Saturday's instead - ??)
Well it or whatever can be done this coming Sunday by someone - would just be a week later as continuous.
You seem concerned that maybe people didn't see what you wrote re coffee grounds. At a later date you can copy just the text and then paste on a new post.
Gw , I just read your post, will l have to go back and find that post you talkin about ok,
GW your right, I am quilty on that, thanks for bringing to my attention, since do think all of you already know I';ve had mega pc problems and will telll ya all so you maybe I should shall I say defend how I went wrong, gosh, I am far from perfect, mega problems besides T/S. and watches and had to unplug my pc, and as GW already know I am not a morning person, but on sunday am I got awoken at 7:30 am a message was left on our ans.machine , so I jumpted up to listen to it, and dh was already in church,. and then I was 1/2 sleepy and mistakenly turned on the pc, w/o replugging it, so that massed that one up, then mistakenly did not see anyone on, and I did post in the wrong date, what can I say....
as far as the infro i posted on the coffee grounds, it took me 2 hrs, to put it on, so if any one wants , your welcome to go back, to read it, I just will forgo that.
hope my ans. 's are sufficient, thanks GW again for opening on SUN< and as per our pm, I thinkin this am as I too my o.j. and opened up my eyes, i may of changed my own mind, and lefting it up to all whom post here.
in the furture call me on any mistakes please, I am not perfect, nor will I ever be, it was my intent when I started this post to have it be a fun and learning place, see I already learn I DID make a mistake.
