We put up a new bluebird house this year. First a black capped chicadee started making a nest, next we saw a sparrow come out one morning, but now the winners are tree swallows. We have a purple martin house up, but never had any martins. The sparrows usually just take over. This year it looks like they have been evicted by the tree swallows. Then this morning I saw a downy woodpecker drinking out of the hummingbird feeder.
I have three bird baths for them on our property and one is right near the hummingbird feeder. We also have a stream next to our property.
My downy's drink out of the hummie feeders all the time and I have 3 birdbaths in my yard, think the like the sugar water. Orioles drank out of the those feeders too the few times I had them and I had oranges, jelly and orange sugar water out for them.
