Donna Summer Is Dead, Report

Donna Summer

Ron Wolfson/Landov

Donna Summer, whose pulsating hits "I Feel Love," "Last Dance" and "MacArthur Park" provided the disco soundtrack for the 1970s, has died at age 63, reports TMZ.com.

A onetime backup singer for Three Dog Night, Summer hit the American charts with the sexually charged "Love to You Baby," released in 1975 amid controversy that it was too steamy for radio but which became a huge favorite in the discotheques gaining popularity.

She went on to release a string of pulsating songs whose overt sexuality clashed with Summer's strict Christian upbringing in Boston.

According to TMZ, the five-time-Grammy winner was battling cancer.

Oh dang, I always loved her voice! I remember dancing to her latest hits at the clubs when I was younger.
