I decided to get some baby ducklings for our ponds and of course they are too young to be outside yet so I have been keeping them in a 30 gallon fish tank until they get bigger.
Their first bath...
Here they are enjoying their bath time in the bath tub!
Look how they have grown!!!!

They are cute! What kind of ducks are they?

What can I say cute, cute !!!
They are mallards and two of them are going through a voice change and beginning to quack! I'm so proud of my fuzzy two legged kids!
They have most of their body feathers and have spent the night out in their coop with the heat lamp on. I think they are about a month old now. They finished their "starting" baby food and sure do eat more so I just bought a 50 pound bag of "growth" food! Ihope that last longer than the first bag of food!
Finally it got up into the 60's!!! So I let the baby ducks out in the garden which is fenced in they really loved the grass path in the middle of the garden! This was their first day of freedom!
Great set of photos! Sounds like your enjoying them.

Oh my goodness Grannyfarmer, they are too cute. What a treat for them to be outdoors on such a lovely day. Love the picture of them in the tub.
Did anyone look at the video of them diving in the bathtub?

Yes, I did Grannyfarmer & it was so cool. Thanks for sharing as it had been awhile since I visited your Flickr page.
The diving in the tube video was a very fun watch. Thanks.
Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear to be bright until you hear them speak.

Today was their first day down in our middle pond - They just would not go into the big pond - I think the fish scared them. But this video shows their excitement having a small pond to themselves!

OOOh, Thank you! Took me back a few years to the time when our three children had ducks and chicks. Daughter always came away with blue ribbons with her ducks, they are so smart and easy to train!
That is soooooooo adorable. Looks like they were really enjoying the feel of that water!
They are down at the middle pond permentally now! They won't leave the middle pond and haven't even discovered the lower pond yet! I moved their coop down there and set up a fence around it.
I heard them quacking loudly yesterday and ran down to see what was the matter and a great blue heron flew off - at least they didn't run for the garden fence like they did the first time a heron swooped down into the pond!!!
When the osprey landed in a tree nearby they got very quiet and shrunk into the weeds - not a peep out of them. I still worry about the coyote, bobcats, and bear! They have grown out most of their flight feathers but I haven't seen them flying around yet! I will feel much better when they can fly away from danger! It looks like an opposum got into their food last night - which is by the pond away from their coop. My husband has ordered me little solar flashing red lights that are supposed to keep the critters away from their coop at night! Can't wait for those lights to get here!
