Temp is -4 but I am making chicken soup so the kitchen is warm.
Ted is off to the day program.. The house is all mine...........whohooooo..
We're at -3C, the wind is howling(up tp -15C with the wind gusts), but the sun is shining brightly. I'm home alone, too, and I really should get off of here and start some house cleaning. Just finished eating my "supper" and have cooked my "lunch" for tonight's work shift. Hope your day is very relaxing

Do you think it is ever going to warm up for us Northerners? I am so tired of being stuck in the house (cabin fever????) and just want to get out on the patio. At least we will enjoy Spring whenever it comes. I have lots to do in the house though - I want to go through all my cookbooks and figure out which ones I don't want, and I should clean out the linen closet too...... My peppers and chilies are really doing well in the garden window, so at least that makes me feel a bit springish.
We were very warm last week - broke 6 days record highs - with it being over 20. The spring peepers were out at night. Hummingbirds arrived in the Kingston/Belleville area, which is only about an hour and a half south of us. I would normally start my peppers right after March break, but as it was so nice outside, I didn't. Instead I got things done that I would usually be doing during bug season (May - June15). Now the ponds are ice covered again, and snow squalls may happen tonight, and the furnace is back on. At least I didn't take my snow tires off like some did.
My geraniums are now sitting back in the summer kitchen. But they do have a lot of new growth. I think I will start my peppers tomorrow after I drop off our income tax files.

Don't feel bad, everything has bloomed out here (WAY ahead of time - even my strawberries) and now we have a frost advisory tonight, it may or may not, I'm praying NOT. LOL So my heat will be back on tonight too. LOL
Here in Michigan we are at 40* and the wind is coming out of the north at 15 mph. We had frost last night and calling for frost tonight. We are 26* cooler then yesterday. I din't know my blood could get so thin from the warm weather we had, its freezing out today
HAHA, I know the feeling but am hoping for winds tonight as they said if there are winds, it won't frost. We'll see.
We are at 30 with a windchill of 19 and it is only down hill from here today.
Growing and Cooking
It's 35 here, W/C of 26. Winds gusting at 37 mph. Sounds like an Alberta clipper! Should we blame Albertagran for sending it our way? Nah, she had ten inches of snow a couple days ago, so she's not any happier than we are. Just one happy thought...it can't last forever. Our real spring will be here soon. Too late for some, unfortunately.
Nope I had nothing to do with it. I am suffering too......It is suppose to snow again tomorrow.
Well they are confirming we'll have a frost, it will be at freezing, so I have been running around pulling some things in the greenhouse (first watering and fighting the aphids, I think i'm winning LOL), drug the heater in there, covered my strawberries, put a spread over 2 clematis that have blooms that are my favorite thing to see blooming in spring, covered one canna, my newest coneflowers and am sitting here thinking should I cover up my hydrangea? LOL Sucks everything has came up big and now a freeze and then after this, they aren't showing anything else ... yet
