Hi ALL WWs! We were supposed to have a transition day today from the hot and humid weather we have been having, but it has decided not to move off just yet. we will be in the low 90s today again with humidity. At least there is a good breeze out there.
Marilyn, Thanks! Your Art Festival looks wonderful! I'd love to browse there.
Mm, I hope Lollie can see her regular vet on Thursday! Your Hummer, blooms and Fuschia are beautiful! I have tried Fuschia here, but can't grow them.
Terry, Our gas is $3.69 and dropping.
Have a great day everyone!

Hi Weather Birds! abd HAPPY 1ST DAY OF SUMMER!
I hope everyone is trying to stay cool as a cucumber today! 3H's are back in full force for a couple of days here -- temps in the mid 90s til about Fri. It's already in the low 90s currently! Trying to decide when the best time to water my gardens in this hot stuff. Probably even a soaker hose might not be a bad idea for this kind of heat if it doesn't break as soon as they say it will.
Mm, love your hb pic! Also the flowers! Your fuscia is beautiful. I have a pink fuscia this yr and it's doing great but not nearly so huge as yours. Did you winter your fuscia? I would like to get another hanging basket soon. But will wait til the heat wave is over!
Marilyn, love those candles. Hope they won't melt in this heat. Did you see my post the other day about TOH's directions for making simple sand candles? I hope to make some. Looks simple enough and I have made candles before but not the sand kind.
Ugh, a stupid fly got in! lol! Oh well..
Hope everyone has a good day today and doesn't melt on this 1st day of summer! Later, gators!

Hi All,
We started at 65 degrees, it's 87 sunny degrees now. I watched a young coon eating corn across the creek yesterday, I bet there's a whole family of them eating that corn now....I need to buy some more. This morning I loaded our Jon boat into the truck bed so I could make some hold down lines with the large clips I bought a couple weeks ago. I decided to go on to the lake and see what was biting....nothing!!! I was drift fishing when a large Beaver swam right past me, guess I was going too slow for him LOL I could've tapped him on the head with my rod, he was that close. I saw a Pileated woodpecker, it stayed quiet the whole time I was at the creek. I found two new shrubs, one had berries already and the other had white "puff" blooms, I'll have to look those shrubs up using two specimens that I cut. Billy's boys were checking their catfish set lines, they told me it's best to fish for bream right when the sun comes up. I got in a lot of practice with my fly rod, since I didn't get any bites with wigglers I don't know if I was doing any good with a popping bug?
Marg.......I planted some corn once, the squirrels would pull it up and eat it like a stick of candy once it got about one foot tall.
Marilyn.......We have CWP down here, this "open carry" law is for those hunting, camping and fishing with a firearm in the open......I need to search more, what I found yesterday was confusing.
Mmarnee/Pat......I noticed our regular was $3.14 this morning, I might fill up my Dakota Thursday when I buy snacks. I saw a HB on the feeder earlier this morning, they're eating from all of the native flowers blooming right now. Our Mimosa tree has been covered with butterflies for a while now...beautiful.
Terry
Hi everyone! Had another very humid day here.Was to get to 96º and no talk of rain until next week. Janis wherever you are I hope your camera is along and I hope you are somewhere cool.
Mm, Your pictures from Tuesday night are neat. Love that fuchsia and the way you have the pics. posted..............The roses????are pretty!
Hi Pat! I filled up today with gas @$3.47. You just never know from 1 day to next.
Hi Marg. Yeah, I did see your post about the sand candles. Let me know how they turn out. BTW, That pic you posted is pretty.
Hi Terry!
Hi ALL WWs! The heat and humidity are gone! We have a beautiful day in store. Severe thunderstorms passed through again late yesterday afternoon.....no warnings were given on TV, but Harley started to howl in the garage. I went outside and the sirens were going off in two towns to the SE and SW of us! Harley is now our official weather dog! LOL!
Rivers are over their banks here, but nothing as bad as what Duluth, MN got. An 8 year old boy was swept through a culvert for 6 blocks before he was rescued with only scrapes and bruises. My prayers for all those people affected . It is a very sad loss of donkeys, sheep and goats that drowned at a petting zoo.
I didn't keep track of the amount of rain we got in the last week, but it has to be close to 6 inches. I hope it is done and the rain goes to the areas that really need it now.
Another 65 degree start here, it's 87 sunny degrees now. I filled up my Dakota this morning, regular was $3.12. Went and bought 50 lbs of corn and then went to the grocery store for my snacks. We're watching a system way down south, it might develop into something. They say that hurricane Chris isn't close to any land masses and he should die out.
I went over and mowed some trails and openings on the north property at 3:00 PM yesterday, much of the areas are in the shade. The lawn tractor did fine in the heavy brush and weeds but did act up a little when I got back home......I'll watch it if it does it again.
~~~~~ Hello Weather Birds!!
It's HOT here now.
Been MIA. Got company coming tomorrow and more after that. Then I leave too. But will try to stop in when I can. Sometimes I'm reading from a phone, but don't have time to make comments or post a pic.
I enjoy everyone's comments & pretty pics! Keep them coming!
Hope everyone is enjoying their summer!!:)
Hi all you Weather Birds!
Terry, I didn't hear about that system called Chris just yet! I'm sure I will be hearing about it in our weather news soon! You're cooler than us right now. Temps currently in the mid 90s and could reach close to the century mark by late afternoon! Not going anywhere. I don't even want to think about being out in this heat and the car breaking down in it! Heat really does in a car fast! Does me in fast, too! lol!
I'm just hibernating in the ol' a/c all day today. It could possibly tstorm later but they aren't real sure about that! If not, I'll have to get out and water my veg gardens later. Ugh!
Hoping Janis is well, and also everyone else who regularly posts in here! MtBabe, is your home alright? Please report in to us!
Everyone have a great day! Later, gators!
A little cooler here today, only 85° today and that's a big difference from yesterday. It seems to want to cloud up but still waiting on the rain they keep promising so I can go out and weed, so much easier when the ground is wet. Boy, do my flowers need it! The boys, Jake and E-Z, have been getting their walks around 8:30 at night because it's to hot for them during the day. Stay cool!
Currently 82°F
Partly Cloudy
Good afternoon Janis and everyone, for the first full day of summer it’s warm and sunny with expected highs around 82 degrees. Our spring was cooler than usual and looking at all your high temperatures I’m not sure how you deal with all that hot weather. After only a day or two with warmer temperatures and high humidity the showers don’t seem so bad.
We did get Lollie in to see the Vet this morning and she had a very good report, he said she is doing fine now. She gained ½ a pound so he says less treats for her.
Pat, I read about the torrential rain that caused flooding in MN; my prayers for the people in the Duluth, MN area. It’s also so sad also about the loss of the poor animals at the zoo.
A big Atta Boy to Harley for warning you of the coming storm!
Terry, wow 50 lbs of corn, you are really good to the wildlife there.
Hi Tina, you have been missed! I hope you enjoy your company and drop by whenever you get the chance.
Marg, your temperatures are really hot, glad you have A/C to keep you cool.
Hiker, you call 85° a little cooler and we call that hot. My dog likes the warmer weather, but as we don’t usually get it that warm I have to keep an eye on her that she does not stay out to long.
Hi Janis, Cricket, Marilyn, Posy, Katie, MtnBabe, MaryinMi, and all that have not yet posted.
Have a great day.
Marnee
Hi Janis, wherever you are, and hi to everyone else out there! Hope all are staying cool.
Had a very muggy day here. Up to 95º after starting about 70º. Sur hope the tv was right, the mugginess is to be gone tomorrow. Only into the 80's so they say.
Hi Pat! Sure do hope your weather is coming this way. I've had enough.lol
Terry, Gee we are warmer than you!That will never do.
Hi Tina, Hope you have a good safe trip & check in when you can. How long will you be gone?
Hi Marg!
Hi Hiker!
Hi Mm,Glad Lollie got a good report, but she won't like the fewer treats, I bet.
This is just an iris from out front.
Hi all WW;ers., how you all been, your all lookin fine,
'It finally cooled down last nite and today also was a lot cooler, warm but not hot, enough of those high 90's .,.... got up to 83* and needed rain, and did while on the road up N for dh had to be certain b.t. & had found out it was not necesary, to travel could have been done in town here,. gr, his doc dh is going to say something, 13 mi more is round trip and gettin up way too early . Need GRUB X down then have the rain , pound it in the soil, but no we had to be gone .... 2nd time maybe someday the grubs will eat the whole lawn and we won;t have to cut the grass, LOL, 3 yrs ago, I torn out bad grass eaten up by grubs, sold us wrong stuff, and too late putting it down so my if it happens again and we are still here, it going to be all stone, and a few evergreens. just can;t doing this, did it a couple of time at previous house... I sore them I'd cement it green and we had slight hill, and for 25 cents let the kid skateboard down it,.
was up there in Mar, here is a pic of the simmom's mattras plants being torn down as we drove by and next is it close to the pepsi plant, that is still there, so why do we only get Coke here.? go figure, like gas is coming down, but we already got it the last low $ then it goes up again,
Pat omg you have been on mind when I see the tv weather report, wow I always say animals know when t/s are coming...
this was historic, then here is the Pepsi plant. still up and running,
the corn in only up 6" should be up 1', in a drought, bet farmer are happy w./ all the rain today while we had to drive in it.. and had to make a few stop, love getting my feet wet,LOL , like a kid again, walking in puddles, in croc's....
ttfn.
Good morning to all! Here it is 71 degrees and headed for high 70's and a relief from the high 80's and mugginess. We may have a shower, too, and it is overcast now and then. We are in a cool period now for 4 days or so.
I need to go out for some errands today and also have jobs around here to get done. The heat does me in and saps what energy I do have!!! The older I get the more it bothers me and I hate to be cooped up in the house because it is too hot to go out or sit out and like my windows open for fresh air not a/c with closed up house. So always feel better when it cools down and is more bearable.
Hope Lollie is doing good now and glad she had good checkup results. Hi to Janis and all that drop by here. Hope everyone is getting weather they can deal with..............and have a good weekend!
Let every day be a good day!
Morning, Weather Birds!
Another hot one here today w/ temps going to the low 90s before the much anticipated cool off to come. Strong tstorms are to come later on this afternoon. We need some good rains here, however. We haven't had a good rain storm for about a week and a half! That's a long stretch for us to be so dry. But it's kind of nice after all the rains we had last yr. We're about on top of it for our rainfall amts, though. I'm thinking I should make a good dinner type of lunch today in case the storms are really bad and maybe we'd lose power or something. Should cool down nicely after that. I hope to get back in my garden to work after the storms, but hope my gardens will survive!! I have to remember to put my seedlings I have going in some shelter.
Marilyn, nice pic! Also, Cricket's pics are nice! I keep trying to post some pics here but PB is always just so slow for me lately that I kind of give up! Sometimes I post pics in FB and it's easy there cuz you just do it from your puter. And I can c&p the pics and post them somewhere else. So, I'll work on it!
Hope everyone has a great day today, despite the heat or storms!! HI TO JANIS! Prayers to MtB and family.
Later, gators!
We started at 71 degrees, it's 91 overcast degrees now. The Bud Light Fishing Tournament got cancelled(first time in 30 years) due to the tropical system in the south Gulf, off shore waves will be 10'-12' this weekend. They're having trouble keeping tourist out of the dangerous surf right now, they just don't understand about the undertows in the Gulf :-( Guess we might not get to take the boat out this weekend. I noticed 8 new tiny buds on our "so called" hurricane cactus this morning, most will fall off.
I was checking the original fuel tank from my FIL's old Evinrude outboard engine yesterday and noticed the pump still made pressure in the tank, this morning I bought 12' of hose to replace the fuel lines. I searched the ID plate numbers and found that it's a 1958 model, it hasn't been run since around 1986.....I might mix some fuel and see if it will crank later on. Went to Walmart and bought a 26" Schwinn Point Beach crusier bike this morning, tried riding it on our property and east road.....I might have just wasted $202 LOL That little bit of riding wore me out, maybe I'm not facing the right direction.
Marg......TS Chris had been all over the news, nothing to worry about. We're watching the new system, it could mess up our weekend here.
Mmarnee......I cut back on feeding our wildlife around here, there's way too much free food on our property to be feeding them like they're starving. I also buy wild/song bird seed mix in 40-50 lb bags....much cheaper that way.
Marilyn......Our highs have been 92-94 degrees this week, I've enjoyed the cool mid 60's morning though :-) I come in when I get hot, better safe than sorry.
