Hi All,

We started at 59 degrees, it's 81 sunny degrees now. We went for a 2:00PM walk yesterday, Joyce fed the hungry creek fish......they were really active. We had one catfish fillet left over yesterday, the four were 1/2 lb each. Joyce is going to fry or boil some shrimp today, we might have leftover shrimp and fish on Monday. The fresh ground cornmeal sure made the fish and hush puppies taste better. I watered plants this morning and looked around in the barn at different fishing and boating stuff that we have....lots of it!! We might make a quick trip to the fish camp today, it only takes five or six minutes to get there.

TS Alberto surprised us yesterday, found out about him on the 5:00PM news.

Hi everyone!  and good Sunday to you!  A picture perfect day here so far w/ temps only in the low 80s, sunny and a nice breeze.  But we'll be losing our bright blue sunny skies soon enough w/ rain moving in tomorrow & Tues.  TS Alberta was a surprise Terry, but I think it won't come this way.  Not sure if the rains that are coming in tonight are from that TS or not.  Tina, your stormy weather right now might be from Alberta.  Sounds like it's missing FL altog.

Mm, very nice pics and thanks for your hb pic and love the new one of Lollie!  Marilyn, I am surprised you got some frost the other night.  It's been very cool here at night and I had to have the heat on 2 nights this week but not last night.  Got the a/c running now, however as it gets hot & stuffy in this place quickly.  Hope you had a happy birthday, MtB!  Cricket, keep that a/c running!  Tina, hope your a/c in the car is working alright now.  Might be just the switch to the fan or something.

BBL & Later Gators!  Speaking of Gators, hello to Janis!

Hello all.Smile

Hi Mmarnee, is that a great-nephew or a grand-nephew?????

I noticed that in a few parts of  North America  these two terms are interchangeable, however, it is not in Europe and most other countries.

Actually, here in AL, some people won't allow the term 'grand-uncle' or 'grand-nephew.'  They eliminated it.  They say 'great', but I disagree with the locals.Big Smile

I hope the weather is good for your great-nephew's birthday party.

Hello Weather Birds & all who follow & drop in!!Smile

Currently:  82.4°F and Clear

66°F – 88°F

Sunrise 5:39 AM      Sunset  7:46 PM

There’s a 20% chance of thunderstorms tonight and for the next 2 days.

There's at least one male Ruby Throat & 2 females.  This is the first time they came during Spring.  There must be at least two hummer nests out there, but I can't find them!!!  I haven't been able to capture a pic of any of them. None is guarding any feeder.

The Mockingbirds' two chicks are out of their nest & now able to fly.  I guess this is why the Bluebirds didn't nest in the BB box.  I saw the Mockingbirds chase away these two huge Black Birds as well as the Bluebirds.

Hi Marg, I think we posted at the same time.  My car A/C is working now.  It was really strange.  Perhaps I needed reminding that forces of nature is stronger than me & I should’ve waited out the storm first before going to get DH at the airport.   Hey, Marg, how's the rain there?  I’m sick of rain.  Yes, I think you are right that it may be effects from the hurricane off the East Coast.  But it's funny how we get one day of heat & drought in between.

Hi Cricket, hold on to your horses.  I’m not leaving right now.  I just have to start throwing out junk, finishing my unfinished projects, separating what stays here & goes elsewhere.  I will keep two homes, fly back & forth, but will not be a permanent resident of AL.  I can still come to B&B no matter where I am.  Looks like you are doing ALOT of yard work too!  Hope you are taking frequent breaks especially if it's hot.:)

Hi Pat, Grace, & Janis!!  I hope you three are feeling better now.  I guess I didn't catch my DH's virus.  I didn't want to.  But he tired me out that's for sure.

Hi Terry - sounds like you're doing alot of work on your property.  I'm behind, need to go back & see what else you've done.  How are the Cardinal Vines (or was that Cypress Vines)?

Hi Marilyn - I really look forward to your India pics & your PB borders.  I'm too busy &/or too lazy to mess with PB now.

Hi Mm - looking good with webshots!  Nice pics of flowers & hummers from your garden too.  And that Lollie is just hands down too cute!!:)

Nice graphics & pics from everyone as well.  I'm so behind, I need to go back several pages to look.

Walked early this morning and it was hot already, 87 degrees by 10:00 am. Getting cloudy and I sure hope it rains but lately it just seems to go around us, my flowers are desperate for water and I am using up all the barrels and buckets of water son had stored up. Can't get in the swing of things today, really late getting on my computer and haven't even read the papers yet, usually I have all this done before 8:30! It's after 1 now.

Hi everyone! Am staying inside today "Tis in the 80's and humid. A/C is on. Summer is finally here.

Terry, Sounds like fun with that fishing camp so close. Did hear about Alberto on the news but didn't pay much attention.

Hi Marg, Our air has stopped so broke down and tuned the a/c on.

Hi Tina, Glad you like my "fooling around" in PB. And I mean that literally cause I never know what I'm going to get. Sometimes I mess around on the original FotoFlexer but then sometimes I have trouble saving it. What a mess with this new PB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!That's one advantage of being older, you have more time on your hands. Or at least I do.

Hi Hiker!Hope that rain comes this way.

This is the latest of Janis's pictures. Not sure where it is!

It's an interesting spring day in Colorado. When the sun is out, it's hot, and the sun feels dangerous on my skin, as if the ozone layer isn't there at all to protect me. We've had a couple of brief showers, but as soon as they end, there is no sign they even happened because the air is SO dry.

Here are a couple of pictures for comparison. This is a hitchrail for tying up horses along the trail. It is a single rail.

Last week a posted a hitchrack, which contains 3 rails to accommodate more horses. This is a different hitchrack which I photographed because of the beautiful tree behind it.

Several of you commented on the hitchrack last week (Mmarnee, Marilyn, and Pat), so I thought I's take more pics of others.  Pat, I'm sorry to hear that you can't ride anymore. I never did ride, but I took care of 7 horses and 8 mules for 15 years. I just enjoyed being around them.

Cloudy/light rain

Sunrise: 5:34am Sunset: 8:41pm

Good afternoon Janis and everyone, looks like our warm and dry weather ended. We have light rain with mostly cloudy skies and our expected high temperatures today is near 70 degrees. The next couple of days are supposed to be cooler with plenty of rain so I guess my lawn will get some nice rain water.

Tina, sounds like you will be really busy takes time to downsize. It’s amazing how much stuff we can collect. I threw out so much junk a few years ago and need to do so again.

The birthday is for the son of my niece; or my Sister’s Grandson. Language can be a bit confusing I don’t think I’ve heard “grand nephew” before only “great nephew”. In any case he is one Great little boy and it looks like we are going to have rain for the party.

BTW, I chase away or have Lollie chase away black birds, since I read they will destroy a hummer’s nest.

Marilyn, I love the bright colors in the mall over in India. And thanks for posting the pictures from Janis, looks like she has some beautiful aerial views.

Hi Janis, Tina, Marilyn, Pat, Terry, Cricket, Posy, Hiker, MaryinMI, MtnBabe, MaryinKY, Grace, Kathie, Hope I didn’t miss anyone.

My view of from the front yard of my neighbor’s pretty flowers

Hi World! What a beautiful day in our world.....sun is shining and the birds are singing...at the moment....LOL...

Well what a world we have with photos from India to peruse.....can't wait to get back and read this post....I've missed so much.....but thanks to you guys taking the time to share my photos it's almost like I'm there.....be fun to read and see.....what has been so exhausting....but not as tiring as living somewhere without birds,,,LOL

Mmarnee what beautiful iris framed photos I saw...just took a quick peak from my last visit here....then had to start writing or spend the time reading....

It's sure nice to be home resting up.....LOFLMAOOTO.......................read my lips....Tina....and birthday girl Jill.....and Pat ....we would be blissful together...remember that old adage?...misery loves......yesterday was a chore....LOL

Terry are you keeping the trees off the house down there? It's a 24/7 job......my plants under the house should have been watered once...the only thing thriving is the gardenia...so far....been busy trying to find a replacement canopy for the gazebo.....shade is too valuable around here in the summer.....

Posy sounds like you got lucky to find a team to aid in your yard work......was wondering if your pool had a liner in it and there was still a problem....many of the Fl. homes have pools....and water shortages...LOL....and underground springs...what a parody....

Tina having slept the day into night away I finally got to see some of the spectacular celestial action going on.....what a show.......

Marilyn pretty flowers from your daughter....hope all had a happy day....prayers for her safety ...

Hi all you other folks that visit.....it's a fun yard to meet some special birds......

Hi Hiker.....hope you have got that rain by now.....

One thing I've employed is to have buckets near all my faucets and they will catch all the cold water that will run while waiting for the hot water....bucket helps in the shower without a faucet...LOL

Mmarnee you had me gasping to see those photos and read from the bottom up that this was not the result of all the time you have spent in your yard but the neighbors.....LOL

Jill those are neat hitching posts.....it's so hard to imagine a dry climate when you lived next to the swamps in Fl.....a friend said that is why places have so many sink holes because the developers are filling in marshes...LOL....flying at 2800ft. is sure a nice way to cool off...I'll wave...

Marilyn thanks for posting the pics for folks....those are aerials of WV. and some happy yard birds...LOL

Got to shake a leg as haven't got anything done....

Hi All,

We started at 59 degrees, it's 86 sunny degrees now. I charged the trolling motor battery yesterday, it was tempting to take the Jon boat for a spin today but I had things to do. I used my gas trimmer to cut brush from around the house and parking areas, now I can mow it. I went and bought snacks and then got some insulated cord hangers so I can hang a power cord under the eves for a security light....now I won't have to watch for the cord when I'm mowing and trimming. Looks like Alberto gave Jacksonville some rain, he's about to fall apart.

Tina.....Those Cardinal vines are about 8" tall now, they should do fine.

MtnBabe.....The main street in front of my GP's home still had hitching rails and post at the general store, feed and seed shop, barber shop, cobblers shop and  fishing and hunting supply store up until around '52. There was a long board sidewalk that connected them all, just like those in western movies....I was six then. That's a four lane road with turn lanes now.

Janis......Our miniature gardenias are in full bloom on the hill behind our home, smells so good out there. The wild Stokes Asters are blooming and our mimosa  is a canopy of fluffy flowers. We need rain, our creek is low but the fish are doing just  fine.

Hello Weather Birds & all who follow!!Smile

We had a very bad electrical & thunderstorm in the middle of the night.  But no damage.:)

Hi Janis, good to hear from you.  That’s interesting about the sink holes.  I think ours are natural around here, though, along with the human generated ones.

Hi Hiker, hope you got your rain.   We got ours, but too much & for too long.  We could’ve done with the lightning last night.

Any rain there, Marg?

Hi Posy, lawn help is the best, isn’t it??  I usually have the old-er men.  Not the shirtless, young men like is sensationalized.  I don’t think I would want them on my property anyway.  Too inexperienced & they’ll whack the wrong stuff.

Hi Marilyn, wow, you did a great collage of Janis’ dare devil aerial & ethereal life, lol!  Those finches are cute.  Borders are beautiful & you’re turning into a PB pro.:)

Hi MtnBabe – thanks for the reminder of single hitchrail & a hitchrack.  Pretty scenary too!  Pat & MtnBabe don’t ride anymore?  I still can, but it’s hard to match a horse to me.  I just will never get on another Arabian.  Period.

Hi Mmarnee – Wow!  How green & pink your neighbor’s yard is.  Wonder if there’re nests in his hedges.  The Northern Mockingbirds here love to build their nests in those.

Hi Terry – glad to hear Alberto is falling apart.  I really haven’t watched tv news.  I can look up weather on-line, but haven’t done that either…& we had a bad electrical storm in the middle of the night.

Gosh I’m still way behind with Mmarnee, Cricket, & Terry’s posts of what they’ve been doing and all the pics the ladies posted from a many pages back!

Gotta find a pic…if my DD doesn’t call for me to make her something she’s craving to eat.  BB sometime.

Hi I just seen Tina, post, was not on line yesterday, I  know Tina, your not leaving right now, LOL,    If your cleanin out stuff, when your done, come on over give me a hand, ok,

oh don't worrry I never go out in the hot temp, only in 80* never 90*, not  totally lost all my senses, but  did yesterday when I was just waking up and dh comes on from Sunday mass  I am not even out of bed yet,. and he tells that chix next dr. to me is outside, cause, i have been ticked w. her for several yrs, now with her high bush and it attrackes crs now , flying beetle, that comes over to my floweres bed on the deck ,and even ones I had out in front on a shepards, and I even paid good money for 2 of  them to be potted for me, and lost them all, I could even see all my petunia,s literally being eaten by these bugs, like I have money to burn, so I even had a talk w. he over 3 yrs, ago, asked here if she was planning on putting dust stuff on the purple plum, and she said oh i keep foregetting, so after I got up & eat I walked over to her and again asked he if she planned on putting that dust on the purple plant, and  this time I told her how i HAVE LOST OF FLOWER, CAUSE SHE DOES NOT TREAT HER BUSH AND NOW IT UP TO THE GUTTERS ON THE HOUSE,, AND i SAID i SEE IT GETTING TALLER, SHE SAID, i KEEP FORGETTING, i SAID i HATE WHEN PEOPLE DAmage my propety, and I walked off, seeing as her little screaming brat was by her.  It  is no lose, they never speak to us,everyone one says she is stuck up, i just leave them be, even their kids the other day when I was out planting would hardly even wave, one older one, just plainly looked me right in the face, while I passed, while she was holding her cell phone, next one to get pregant like her older one..,. her problem not mine.

this was taken last yr,, their bush,,,, I feel if I needed to finally speak up, they should be ashamed.

Venting, TU, this was taken a few weeks ago, last yrs was posted ealier but does not seen to be here...

this yr  and last yr I only planted radished and onions in my planter boxes on the deck,  oh,OIC Janis posted, Hello Janis how are you felling , better I hoping.
