will any other jelly or jam work. I'm out of grape jelly and wonder what else I can use for the birds.
Thanks in advance.
Not sure about the jelly or jam but ours like apples, oranges and raisins.
Hi Mamma !
I've read that Orioles will eat different jellies besides grape. Altho I've never put out other flavors, I've been thinking of trying strawberry and raspberry jellies too. Anything that's on sale ! Speaking of jellies and Orioles, I've got to go out right now and fill them since I see from my window that they are empty !
Try a couple of different flavors and see which one they prefer ! LOL Good luck !
I have used any kind that I have had on hand when I ran out of grape. The birds eat it all.
We feed our orioles grape JAM, not jelly. We buy it by the case when it's on sale so we always have it on hand when the orioles are here. We've never tried any other jams or jellies but it's nice to know they like them all.
I tried jam once and my fussy orioles wouldn't touch it! They like JELLY! I did run out of grape one time and used my homemade blackberry jelly until I could get to the store, and they seemed to like it...but they're NOT getting my homemade stuff every day!! LOL
