If you put a pad on your dining room table which side goes up, the vinyl or the felt side????? At my age I should know this, but I must confess that I don't.
Jo Ann, I would think the vinyl would go up and the felt side would be against the table.
I've had the felt to stick to my table.. I don't use them now.
Thanks, Wilma. That's the way I did it, but I have second guessed myself.
I put the vinyl side up, the felt side down.

Petals, I never thought of that. It just seemed like I needed something underneath the tablecloth.
Felt goes toward the table, That is the way my grandmother placed it and my mother also, they never had it stick to the table, Gram had holiday dinners at her house til she died in 1958 and Mom had them at her house til 1976 when my sister started having the holiday dinners at her house.

The felt side goes "down" on the table - if you put the vinyl side down on the table it causes moisture and ruins your table. ALWAYS put the felt side DOWN!!!
Well I would imagine that the vinyl side would be easier to wipe in case of spills. I know the felt part keeps the stains. I also think if you put the vinyl side on the table it would slide more and not stay put.
Thanks, Ladies. I will leave it the way I have it. We don't ususally use this table, but we are having Thanksgiving at our house this year and will be using it.
Felt side down, always. If the top is vinyl, then you need a trivet for hot food. A nice table cloth will not take the heat of a hot dish. .

Felt down--vinyl up. Mine hasn't stuck in 21 years. In fact, I took them off the other day to dust, and my table underneath looks brand new! Some day when I die, my granddaughter will get a gorgeous dining room set.
Felt down, vinyl up...BUT!
...I too have seen them leave fuzz and marks.
Perhaps it is our humidity PP?
