I just looked it up...5 - 6 days for a 23 pound turkey, and mine is over 24!
I was worried about where to put things I was going to pre make in the freezer!...LOL...now what am I going to do with my whole top shelf GONE!
Good buys....LOL
I only have a 7 lb. boobie one! Just 3 or 4 of us!
Let every day be a good day!
Thanks for the reminder. I'm going to take mine out on my way outside to get the mail.
I'm not getting mine until Monday. I hope everyone saves one for me. LOL! My freezer's been too full for one.
Happy Thanksgiving!
All this talk and fuss about TG...and THAWING never even entered my mind!...LOL
MM...we bought up the huge turkey first at .40 a pound...then went back and got two 15 pounders...then son was given a 13 pounder!...LOL....we have enought turkey for ALL YEAR!
My turkey is in the fridge thawing as we speak.
So why not put it in a sinkful of water to thaw? To me this way is safer than letting it thaw in the fridge for days. Happy Thanksgiving to you all, when it comes................Elaine
That's what I'm doing with mine Sandy...it's over 24 also...so I figured I'd still have a VERY cold bird...and if not fully thawed...can use the water trick in the end...
....so AEGS..I'll probably do it BOTH ways!...LOL
My 26 pounder has been on the top shelf of fridge defrosting since last Friday. Its just now starting to thaw. I keep my fridge very cold.................not quite freezing...........just VERY cold. I figure with the opening and closing of the door all day, one needs to keep those temp fluctuations in mind. It should be just right by next Thursday and if the cavity is still frozen, a little cold water should fix that fast.
