So many birds, so many favorites.

Isn't it grand.

And for many different reasons we choose a favorite.

Keep going folks, this is fun and interesting.

My "favorite" fluctuates between hummingbirds, cedar waxwings, white breasted nuthatches, chickadees, and wrens.

  • I can't wait to spot the very first hummer of the season.
  • It is always a wonderful surprise when I seen a cedar waxwing stop by or hear them in the trees.
  • I love to watch the nuthatches scurry up and down our maple tree looking for snacks.  I've also had a pair that has started to swoop in and swipe seeds from my tube feeder, then fly off with bits of BOSS.  So amusing to watch.
  • Chickadees are so sweet and I love to watch them fly into the yard.  Their flight is so fun.
  • Last year was the first time I had wrens and I loved them.  DH and I spent a lot of time watching a house wren building a nest in a house outside our family room window.  Over the winter I worried myself silly about a Carolina wren that spent about a month here.  Anything I've spent so much time fussing with has to be on my favorite list.

I would like to say cardinals are on my list since they are our state bird but I hardly see them around here except in the spring when they sometimes nest in a wild rose bush.  I guess in the spring cardinals would be on my list too.

 Peace be with you always!

The Barn Swallow.  They glide throug the air so gracefully.   And the Western Bluebird.

I enjoy all birds, but in fall my favorite is the eastern bluebird, winter would be tufted titmouse, they are so fun. Spring the bluebird comes back out and the summer the swallows come swooping in. I love the fact that they keep the bug population down.
