Right here is Libbys packing processing.  Our pumpkins are rotting by huge #'s still in the fieldsSad  What they have gotten are not good quality and small.....what a holiday plus hugh?

Heard oranges are on the rise...did they get a big freeze in Florida?

Why are the pumpkins rotting and not being processed?

Heard/saw that on the news yesterday.

Sparrow, it was not a good growing season here in Wisconsin. Very wet, below normal temps, etc.

This morning I heard something about a shortage on Eggo Waffles.  Missed the details.

Same here in Michigan . . terrible growing season. Too wet and not enough hot dry days.

Our tomatoes were awful and those that were lucky enough to get/grow them were selling them for $19.00 a bushel and getting it!  OUCH!   I just got 2 bushels from 42 plants and they were small and I was struggling to try and get more . . I got those in late September and October.

So sad because our economy doesn't need the extra burden for special treats like pumpkin pie . .

Screwed up growing season this past year.  Hope next year is better.  It has such an affect on the economy when the growing season is a flop.

I only use canned pumpkin bread for bread, cookies, etc.  I buy my pumpkin pies-Sara Lee.  I bought 4 on sale yesterday for the freezer.  We like them anytime of year.  They were $3.00/ each.  I like those pies the best as they are 37 oz. size bigger than others.  Marie Callendar pies are good, but very expensive so I pass those up.

Let every day be a good day!

Yep, they just can't get out to getem like normal with the fields swamped.  Punkins are small for harvest...you drive by the fields near libbys and they are just rotting.  The pumpkin festival was low too~~~~~bad harvest....1st year in 20 0r so they didn't have spares to do the pumpkin chunkin contest.

Who but he controls the weather.

Patti, the Eggo waffles are on short supply due to flooding in a plant in Atlanta, I think, and maintenance at another plant. May be short supply til next summer? They are shipping to stores according to their sales. Some places they are almost gone, but I saw some today. I do have a few in the freezer for DGS. He had some when he was here last weekend.

Gotta get some pumpkin. Need to make some pies for next week.

Same here in Pa. Passed a big field yesterday and it was just loaded with pumpkins just rotting away. Have also heard that on the news.

Agree with Posy on the Sara Lee pies, any flavor.
