He's doing better and is home now. Still has the blood clot but now has a filter in his vein to keep it from going to his brain or lungs. he says his skin from his midback to his toes is black from where all the blood settled. He had a tear in his leg muscle that bled out. the dr's told them that he lost 3/4 of his blood, and needed 6 units of blood and 10 units of plasma to stop the bleeding. He is up and around at home, and bored!! lol He has a couple ofdr appts this week and in a month to deal with the blood clot.
thanks to you all for your prayers and thoughts! Bear with me if I've posted all this before- been a busy week and I can't remember my own name sometimes ! lol
So glad to know that there is help for blood clots . GMZ
Wow what a worry, and I hope your dad will be fine soon.

That is good news. Now cures for the blues - or was that bored out of his gourd? Does had have a computer? The paint program can be fun. Does he like to write? Give him a journal with questions to write about memories of growing up, school antics and classes. And if he can't do that have him record some family times remembered. Other ideas - to call friends that might be shut in's and need a call. Are there friends that can come in and play cards? Just some of the things that have helped me. Also the puzzles can be fun. And Paint boards from the kids counter that are creative - in case he is any way artistic. what activities did he do before? Hope you can find some helps for that Bored dad. Praying that he continues to heal - and find something to do to give meaning and purpose to his new days! Alma
I'm glad to hear your father is doing better. Continued prayer for him and your family.
Glad to know he is better. I didn't know there was much other than meds for clots til this week. My ex husband was scheduled to have surgery on his neck yesterday, but they found a clot in his leg and had to put a filter in. Sounds strange, but I guess it works.
I'm glad to hear good news.
