My paternal Grandma always had "starter" in the cupboard above the stove. She also kept an OPENED jar of Miracle Whip in the cupboard. We all told her she needed to keep it in the fridge, or she would get food poisoning. She never listened to us. She lived to be 89, so I guess it wasn't the unrefrigerated Miracle Whip that killed her.

I dont know in the cupboard, but i do know she always had cherry tomatoes! my kids will remember there nana always having m and ms and peanutbutter crackers!
I never had the honor of knowing any of my grandparents.
Big cardboard 5 gal ( I think it was 5 gal) containers of ice cream. Actually these were kept in a freezer in the outbuilding in the back yard. She had chickens so there were always fresh eggs.
I loved my Grandmother's cherry or berry pies and her banana bread!
