in our world.  As you know I lost my husband 4 wks ago and can't believe the help I've received.  Yesterday had a the man that cleans furnaces come and check the furnace.   He showed me what to do if  power is lost and told me not to hesitate to call him at anytime.  Today I took the van to have it checked out before going to my son's for a week and when I went to pay,  the mechanic  would not take anything.  He even rotated two tires, and checked all the fluids, brakes and whatever.  I know him thru friends but certainly didn't expect this response.  I feel blessed.

Hi Nancy - if you were not such a good person, you would not be receiving this treatment!  You truly have been blessed with good friends, but you 'earned' it, with your attitude & kind ways.  Remember the saying 'what goes around, comes around' and now it is your turn  to receive a kindness!

hugs..............Elaine

I think that is when we notice how many nice people there really are when something happens.  You are lucky they are treating you well.  I think people are worried that they will be taken advantage of these days, and pretty hard not to feel that way when all the bad stuff you read about.  It is hard to be alone and be trusting of others, too.  God bless you.   When I was widowed I was always a bit leery thinking about being taken advantage of when you need plumber, carpenter, etc.  A natural feeling, I guess.  You never know if they are inflating costs or not.  Glad you have some honest folks looking after you.

I feel a little edgy myself today since the guy came and hauled my lawn debris away.  He took some stuff I wanted to the dump that was near the front edge of the garage inside.  Before I got out there and get the door up, he had come through the breezeway, gone out there and opened the garage door.  Then he said oh, see you have some tires, I said yes, they are my son's.  Then he noticed some copper pipe and connections hanging in a few places.  I said yes, we may need those as we have 3 bathrooms and they are there in case we need them when the plumber comes......I felt uneasy after he eyed up some of the stuff.  He's never done that before and been here several times and got the ladders out of garage before for other things he's done for us but never made comments.  I was surprised he was here, because he showed up late.  I had been watchng for him and had been outside a couple of times before he came.  Somehow I missed him when he got here and knocked on my kitchen door and had his truck almost full of my lawn debris.  Timing was bad or otherwise I would've had the garage door open and put the stuff closer out into the driveway.  I just hope he forgets about it or maybe he has no bad intentions and it's just my imagination.  Copper is worth some bucks these days!

Let every day be a good day!

Don't blame you Posy for being nervous about that guy. You never know today with the economy the way it is! That is one reason we have a big dog running around. We live on a farm and sit back a ways from the road.

First let me say I'm sorry for your loss.  (((HUGS)))  Second....it sure is nice to hear "goodness"  is still going on around you!  What a wonderful surprise about the "no charge" from the mechanic!    I hope you're doing well with all you have to deal with now!

going to my son's for a week

I assume you mean your son in Syracuse.  (Or Liverpool!)  If you want to get together while you are here, I could meet you at Panera's on Rte. 31.

Joanne,

I would love to meet you.  My son lives very near the mall.  I'm trying to think where Panera's is located.   Are you on the TOY list so I could email you?

No, I'm not, but you can send me a PM, or better yet, I'll send you one and give you my e-mail address!

Posy - Please take extra precautions and listen to your intuition about this man.  Is there anyway you can move the items to another area or have a good lock installed?  It's a scary world out there and money is short, so anything can happen.  PLEASE take some extra steps to protect your items.
