I have collected all I need and will also try to take cuttings, but there are tons of seeds still sitting on my stevia plant on my deck. This was the first year I planted it, and bought the plant, but hope to grow it from seeds for next year. I actually used the leaves, along with mint leaves, added to my tea when I brewed it occassionally for a different flavor.

Just thought I'd check and see if anyone here is interested, since the stevia seeds may not be a common thing to purchase. Will send for SASE or trade. Just send me a PM (I think I have it set up) if you are interested.

I have never heard of stevia. Is it pretty or only used in tea?

Stevia is what is now used in some of the sweeteners, such as Truvia, Sun Crystals, and PureVia. It is just a plant. There are clusters of tiny flowers in late summer/fall, but otherwise I would just say that it is an ordinary plant. The leaves are sweet and I used them along with mint leaves in teas. They do have a different flavor fresh than in the sweeteners, but I've read that you can dry them. I should try that but haven't yet. And I want to try to root some cuttings but haven't done that yet either.

Guess that's all I can tell you. You can look up info online though.

I'm also  growing stevia. I've taken cuttings from it and also started some from seeds. It's very easy to grow. I haven't tried drying any yet, but my plant is ready to be cut back, so I think I'll give it a try.

Lynne send me some of them on the bulb train. OK

Maybe we can add cuttings or do that on another train.

I'm glad you got them. I don't think I sent you a message that I had gotten the seeds from you, on Christmas Eve, I think. Thank you I'm looking forward to growing them. Plan to start my seeds next week.

Lynne would you send me a few seeds if you have extra? I would like to try stevia and see if I can have luck with it.

Thanks

green.thumb, I tried to send you a PM, but you do not have it set up. If you will set it up in your profile, I will send you a message with my address if you want to send me a SASE. I also have other seeds you may want and I can send some of them also.
