Remove that carpet install laminate flooring throw away the vac it is so easy to clean. Now that would be a great christmas gift.
I guess I am the wierd one here. I always got appliances for such gifts and loved them. Actually that is what I would ask for.
The year before DH passed away I bought him 2 frying pans for Mothers day and he bought me a lawn tractor for father's day. We used to do a lot of fun things like that.
Now that he is gone I have to buy myself a gift from my DB who lives with me and is mentally challenged and I usually buy something for the kitchen. This year I think he is getting me a new phone system as the one I have is getting so one phone doesn't work well. Call me nuts but I think gifts should be practical.
I'm the same Wilderness.
DH and I have solved our Xmas gift problem. He finds something her really wants, buys it and gives it to me and I wrao it for Xmas. I do the same. I have gotten the best presents this way ... GMZ
Gary, when you do buy a vaccuum cleaner, be sure it is the best you can get for allergies. Mine is the first Enviro-Vac with HEPA filter that came out.
Besides being allergic to cats, I am allergic to dust mites too, among many other things. I have never had cats in this house, but it seems I can't avoid the dust. I know it is not good to have carpeting in my case, but there are carpet shampoos now with allergen formulas. I love my carpeting, so taking it out would be the last resort.

Yes HEPA Filter is good. I think my DW is ALLERGIC to everything but the CHECK BOOK.

Ours has the Hepa Filter too (for dust mites - little devils).
Well I was sick of having a junkie old vaccum that wasn't doing such a great job (I soon found out). I went to Kohl's when I got a 30% off certificate and they had the Bissel Pet Hair Eraser vac on sale for $149.99. I got my 30% off plus had a $10 Kohl's cash certificate so I got it for around $100 and I LOVE the sucker. The hand thing really does well on removing the short little hairs my Jack Russell deposits on the couch and it'll suck the hairs off your legs if you get it close. Best gift I've bought myself in a long time. I had just vaccumed the night before and came home and BF put it together for me and I vaccumed the living room and realized, I'd been living in FILTH. It was UNREAL the dust it sucked up, I kept on til I had worked up a drenching sweat and nothing else came out of the carpet when I vaccumed it. Just a thought Gary since you love your furkids too, they sure do track in dust and drop fur so if you have a Kohl's nearby and a charge card and get a 30% off certificate (or can borrow somebody's), GO FOR IT.

Deloris, do you mean the pet hair that sticks to pants legs................or actual hair on your legs?? I better get me one of them!! LOL!!
Deloris, thanks for the heads up on that vac!!! I desparately need a new one myself. I'm hoping I get enough Christmas money to buy both my Amish style wagon and a new vacuum for myself for Christmas.

Well me and Molly (on the gardening board) have waivered since I'm a Bissell girl and she's a Hoover girl, but I tell you what, it didn't suck them off (rats) but it'll suck the hair up ON your legs. LOL I tried using an electrolux and the brand new car wash vac in town on my BF's vehicle and it would not suck it off te upholstery, it was like it was stuck in the weave. This attachment sucked it off like magic. I hate to clean but this makes cleaning so much easier.
