I have a stray cat I feed every nite and morning. At nite I feed hin a can of cat food mixed with dry food. Is that enough for him. In the morning He gets pepperoni and a piece of bologna. I think that is good . Right.

I don't know.....don't have cats.  What did you figure out you are going to do with him for the winter?

gary we only feed our cat dry food it  is better for her teeth it spoils them with the wet food but that is ok if that is what u want to feed it  so this cat is out doors all the time u could prob just give it yr table scrapes that is what a friend of mine did when she lived on the farm

He shows up about this time . And I feed him and then he jumps up on me for his rub down. I come in he leaves. He loves to be loved.

i think if u just give him a big bunch of dry food when he comes around he will be fine as he is used to finding his own food

Gary I think I would skip the Pepperoni & Bologna.  I feed mine about a handful, or less, of dry food in the morning.  Supper another small handful of dry food & a couple spoons of canned food or one of those little individual servings of wet  food.  Does this cat come in the house?  Does he have someplace he can go in bad weather ? Garage, under the house? Barn?

Gary, I am so glad that you are taking care of the cat.........but dont feed it balogna, or pepperoni or really any table food...........Our vet told us this years ago........ A good dry cat food, and fresh water is really enough...... We do give our outside cat a half a can of wet  a day in the winter.....I mix it with warm water at her evening meal....... but the rest of the year we give her dry......... She also has a nice warm box, that we keep dry......I change her covers in it every week and wash up the dirty ones so she has nice soft ones to sleep on........... Alot of people use cedar chips, but I find that the local squirrels and chipmunks get in them and push them all over ...LOLOL

Hope this helps.........I love my cats............ and my birds.....

Catsbirds reply was correct.  I've had several cats over the years, and Catsbirds reply was good  advice to follow.  Having a cat come to your door is supposed to be good luck!!

My son puts dry food in the outdoor cats bowl in the morning, when he gets home at night then he gives him food from a can. One of my indoor cat's will only eat dry food and the other only canned food.

Gary, I don't think you can call him stray any more. You've got a new member of your family. I have 2 inside cats and they eat nothing but dry food.I used to have 3 cats inside and they got so finicky about their eatting. They would love 1 flavor in a can so I would buy that, then  they would turn against it. I just vowed that the next cats would get just dry...............

We also have a bunch of barn cats and they get nothing but dry & no human food.

Our cats are what the vet calls a grazer. They eat a couple pieces now & then.

I have 3 cats they're indoor-out door cats.  Indoor through the night and outdoor through the day.  They eat dry food but ocassionaly I give them a can of food that has the gravey in it.  They love the gravey and lap it up but leave the rest of it.  Oh well, its a treat for them.

Gary, your cat has adopted you because you feed him and love up on him.  Who wouldn't . lol   All he needs is dry food and water.  I don't think I'd give him bologna  or pepperonie.  To spicey.  Maby a little chicken.  I think I'd fix a place where he can be sheltered from the elements and have a nice place to bed down because, nope he's not a stray cat anymore.
