On my way home from church yesterday I saw lots of people out putting up their holiday lights on their houses.  Seems so early, but they were smart because we have very few nice days left to do those chores.

Do you decorate outside or just mainly inside the house?  I do almost all of mine inside but I am just now putting my Thanksgiving plates and decorations out.  Everyone is in such a hurry!

I put one little tree with white lights by the front door. The rest inside.

But I do understand why they would put them up in good weather. I've seen people putting them out in the rain or snow.

We used to put lights outside and we would did  it about this time, no use out there trying to put the lights up with frozen fingers. We put a few rope lights on the railing in front, getting to old to be climbing ladders.LOL

Since our house is 1/4 mile from a road, most people wouldn't see our lights, so usually it is just inside decorations.  Last year I was too down to do much of anything, this year I feel like trying again,  so we will see what happens.

We put a few things out but not that much.  There was a lot of people here putting their stuff out this last weekend because it was so nice out.  If you think about about it, it's not that far until Thanksgiving and a lot of people "light up" that night Wink

We've always done some simple outside decorations. Lights around the eves and a little nativity set. Nothing too major. Last year I didn't do anything...not even a tree.

This year, DS and friend are coming for Thanksgiving, so I am hoping to cajole them into hanging the lights. I live way out, so not many will see them, but I will enjoy them.

I heard on the news about a little boy that is very sick, (I don't know where), and is not excpected to live until Christmas. He loves Christmas lights, so the town put out all the decorations and lights early, just for him. I thought that was so sweet.

My son puts outdoor lights on the house, just bought all new blue colored ones. I wanted green but we couldn't find them. Don't do much inside anymore.

Smart to put them up now if the weather is nice. But please do not light them until after Thanksgiving!!! :) No decorating at all here this year, going to Florida and will not be here. But other years what little we do anymore it is all inside.

Usually lights on the front shrubbery and the ramp.  No more along the rooftop.  Even what we do put out is really a lot.  I have tree inside, a village scene on diningroom counter/hutch and some shelf sitters on the entertainment center.  I cut back more each year; just not into it that much anymore and don't have the energy to monkey with it all.  Some put them up early here when the weather is good; just don't light them till later on.  Usually we end up doing it when it is freezing out and wind whipping!  How smart is that?

Let every day be a good day!

A couple of years ago about 10 houses on our side of the street put in big  Royal Palm trees.  Depending on the width of your property, you planted trees so they would all be evenly spaced along the way.  We put in 3 - my poor neighbor next to us had to put in 5 and they were already a pretty good size.  Every Christmas we all decorate the trunks by wrapping white lights around them exactly the same and the street  looks beautiful. We have a big tree inside in our dining room window and that shows nicely from the street.  Last July 4th we wrapped them in bands of red, white and blue lights and they really were neat to see.  Before moving to Florida, I always put a spotlight on the front door and did the same thing her - the first year and it was only on one night.  Forgetting that our bugs don't go away in the winter like they do up north I had every flying thing within 10 miles around my front door - bad idea for here!

Used to decorate the whole house - inside and out - but since we've started going down to Florida for 3 months in Jan/Feb/Mar I don't even put a Christmas tree (used to have one up and one down int he family room) up any more.  I don't want to come home in April and have to start taking down Christmas decorations, plus I'm getting older and moving slower, and I'm sure many of you know what I mean!!!

My DH put up lights on the front of our house.  He usually puts them up after Thanksgiving.  We don't decorate like we use to.   We have a small tree inside.   I sit out a few decorations in the house.  The rest I keep in their boxes.    We both always enjoyed driving around looking at other houses decorations.  We lived somewhere ( don't remember where)  the neighborhood had beautiful decorations  on their homes.

The weather here has been warmer the last week in October was so nice and here it is November.   I know winter will be here soon Stick out tongue
