I am so proud of myself. We decided to start Christmas shopping early and a little at the time so it doesn't hit us all at once. I am finished with DH. We are half-way finished with DD. And I am finished with DM. I am also finished with my nieces and nephews. Shopping for my best friend, her husband and daughter tomorrow. DH and DD are also about finished with me.

My answer to this is that we quit celebrating Xmas 34 years ago - no mass panic for us anymore.  If we need something throughout the year and it is on sale, it is purchased.  We don't need excess of anything.

We don't have extra money, so why patronize the stores?  Gift giving has gotten way out of hand, and it is the shopping centres that benefit.

It is not that we don't believe in Christmas, because we do, but we are happy in  how we live, and no longer have the frustration of trying to please everyone..................Elaine

I bought something for me today.... a pretty red poinsettia. $3.00 at Wal Mart, looks pretty good for $3.00.

Other than that, no rush for me. It will all get done. My list is not large, and I'm going to cut back  some this year. I used to shop early like you, but found that I bought too much when I started early.

I'm also not doing the goodies since granddaughter can't have any sweets this year. If I do any baking, it won't be much.

So, are you going to tell us what you bought for everyone? It might give us some good ideas on what to buy. LOL!

I am almost finished with my shopping & most of it is wrapped.  This is not the norm for me although I am usually mostly done by Thanksgiving.  I ran into some good sales a few months ago at one of the discount stores & really got most of it done at that time.  I work as a merchandiser so I am in & out of different stores every day I work & if I see something that I think somebody on the list might like I pick it up while I am there, especially if it is on sale.  I find the hardest is my youngest brother & my nephew.  I never know what to buy them.  One thing I have done as the family grows is once a couple have kids the kids get the presents & the parents get something to share.

I won't be doing much this year, especially since I have been on unemployment for much of the year and we doubt we will be getting our usual bonus. Just the grandkids. For my kids and others I am trying to scan old family photos and will burn them to DVDs. If I have time I would like to make videos and put music behind them, but guess I will see how it goes.

Mine is all finished. I just have to pick up a few stocking stuffers for the males in the family and a present for the new baby next door and that is it. Good feeling.  Next - baking.

I am also all finished. My family give me their list and I go from it to how much I want to spend. I submit a list to them for DH and myself. Most of the family want gift cards so they can purchase what they want when they want. Which is just fine with me, as I hate wraping presents. I get a cute holder for the card and besides I do 99% of it online. No going to a store, shoving, pushing, things broken etc. YUK  We do not exchange gifts to please each other, but to share.

I have a few things, but haven't even started.

I cut down a few years ago too. I have so many nieces and nephews. When they turn 18, no more Christmas gifts from this aunty.

I am guilty of overdoing it for my only grandson. I just can't help myself.

I'm glad you mentioned this.  I want a couple of birdhouses & never thought of looking in that store.  I will this week though.
