I hosted tonight.  I made two chicken pot pies, made with butter, flour, half and half, chicken broth, onions, celery, peas, carrots and potatoes They were sinfullly good, if I do say so myselfDevil There was none left over.Smile I also served a big green salad with it, which was also devoured. I made a pumpkin dessert, made with Libby's pumpkin pie mix and yellow cake mix. None of that was left, either. For an appetizer, I made a 7 layer Greek dip, served with pita chips. There was none of that left, either, and I had many requests for the recipe. I made two pitchers of cosmos, and had a cooler filled with Coronas, water and diet pepsi, all gone. When everyone left, they complimented me on the delicious dinner. It does feel nice to have a successful party.BeerAs an added bonus, Hubby came out of hiding and helped me clean up after everyone left. He did all of the dishes. Smile

That's so great!  When you go through a lot of trouble and planning,, but it's so well enjoyed and received, it doesn't seem like it was much work after all!

Sounds like you put on a great spread!  You know it was a hit when there isn't anything left!  I love parties and getting together with friends like you just did.  (Will you share your appetizer recipe here too?  I'm always looking for  great appetizer recipes!!!!)  Pretty please?

Glad all your efforts paid off, Patty - the group will be wanting to hold the party at yours more often!  You mean someone really enjoys Corona?  Even our slugs wouldn't go for it!!

Know how much you appreciated the clean up help, too.  Now a good hike is in order.............Elaine

This is the recipe site for the chicken pot pie. It really is good. I just use the pillsbury refridgerated pie crust and it works great.
