My hummer likes playing king of the hill and watching over his turf by sitting at the top of my tree, which is the tallest one on the block. Even though Mark says that is normal, I still think it is dangerous as Hawks fly by occassionally. Maybe hummers are too small for a Hawk to bother with?
Below... is showing only half of the tree too!
He is sitting atop another tree in my yard here.

BINGO! For a hawk this is not even a mouthful and, in most cases, is not worth spending the energy on.

All I can say is that this is where I usually find them
OK, I'll quit worrying about the little guys/gals.
I lied... I still worry about the little hummers.
There was a hawk roaming around yesterday, but the hummer was keeping a good eye on him
Jack that looked a little close to me My RHummers gone, but still have RTH's about 4 , so keeping the feeders clean and putting a little SW in them as not to spoil. A great pic. of King of the Hill.
