Just bought the last of my plants I want to save into my garage but don't know where I'm going to go with them, put some in a cold frame to see if I can enjoy them a little longer. Everything blooms so much better right before they get killed off!
I guess we are the only ones that don't like winter here. I hate to see the flowers and things ending. I couldn't believe all that was alive even after hard frosts and now some delphiniums are blooming. Of course with all this rain we have been having I am pretty sure my flower beds are soggy...It poured really heavy last night, I guess we didn't need to water all of our trees last weekend before the cold sets in...
Me too!!! though I still have a few things in bloom, it won't be for long. My cannas are all dug up and stored, this is my first year for storing them, so I guess we'll see if they make it...
Now I have an empty raised bed, except for the bazillion walnuts the squirrels have planted there. I am going to get some chicken wire and put on top ....after digging out the walnuts. Ha Ha squirrels!
Oh well...snow is pretty, at least for the first month, uh week, um day...don't like snow
Don't like winter
don't like snow
don't like storms with winds that blow.
don't like ice, or wind that's freezing,
summer breezes, much more pleasing
I'm with you guys! Would move in a heartbeat if I could afford it.
Hey guys, I just discovered this board and I must say "me too"
You see , I hate winter also , but I can't afford to move to a warmer climate either. But then when you stop and think about it , the warmer climates also have their draw-backs. So it's cheaper for me to stay put.
BTW..Im in northeast Indiana.. br-r-r-r-rrrrrrr

The only problem with warmer climates are more snakes, different ants (fire ants) ...and I guess I should of said poisonous snakes...plus I can't handle the real high humidity....there are good things about living in the cold regions it just gets hard to remember them after a growing season is over and you miss your flowers and being outside..
I can tolerate winter as long as there is no ice or snow on the roads I guess, what I'd like to do was to afford a couple months down south then come back in the spring. Dream on!
ET, I'm in east Central Illinois and about 15 mins. from the border so probably have the just about the same weather as you.
You know, maybe it'll make us appreciate our spring/summer and the flowers even more. I hate winter too, makes my body ache to think about the cold blowing winds and ice, snow and mush that remains. But my cousin is moving back from Vegas, said she sure misses having 4 seasons. You want what you don't have until you get it and then you end up wanting what you had back. LOL And I LOVED the poem!

I know! My daughter is stationed in Tampa,Fl. and says she's tired of the heat there, after she gets out of the Air Force she is looking for a place with four seasons. The cold and dreary days depress me.
Good morning everyone, liked the saying Narnian, I copied it to keep, I don't like cold winter or too hot summer here, enjoy Spring and Autumn best, lived in Mass, and they have real bad winters and heat! Ky isn;t too bad. I found who is taking the peanuts off the railing, titmouse , just saw him out the window! Mary in Ky 10.09am
WOW...a titmouse...I have never seen one at my feeders...my feeders are in the back corner of the yard so they might have been here and missed. I am really enjoying the chickadees flying around.
Snow today covering the roads...I hate driving in it and on it...I would stay home all winter if I could get away with it.
Hiker....is it spring yet? I am dreaming too.
I love snow, snow loves me!
Oh, I love snow too ...just to look at. But when it comes to removing it from the driveway, I am not too happy with it. We had so much last winter, I am hoping the amount will be less. We live on a corner and they turn the corner and dump it in our driveway. We never thought about it when we bought the place.
