When your subject for your photos is a racoon, make sure the birdfeeder is SECURE! Long story short, a racoon has been coming up on my deck the last three nights. Maybe longer, but I just saw him recently. He goes straight for one of my hanging birdfeeders and empties it of all the BOSS. Me wanting to learn how to take pics at night sat up the ole camera. Tonight I saw him and was ready. As soon as he reached over to my feeder it came crashing to the deck. So now as I type this I can see my subject on my deck filling his tummy with my BOSS and all I can see is his tail. It WILL be secured for him the next time! *curses and kicks the cat in disgust.......*
exellent advice!
Builder24car.....LOL Been there done that...I nailed the feeder right to my deck railing.
My tip for the night.. Watch where you are walking.. Raccoons leave quite the mess behind. Carol/Glory
I love that pic Carol. Any raccoon that drinks Bud is ok by me! LOL
Builder, that is a fun story for sure! Too bad about not getting the pic! Why don't you post what you did capture in your coon pic? That would be funny.
Carol, good pic of the coons. I think I remember that pic in talking veggies.
I'm trying to get the fall pic thread here going again. I forget about the pet thread but I don't have any pets.

You have to really look close, but you can see the raccoon's paw as he tries to keep eating from the fallen feeder.
Sounds like a great tip! Most of my best lessons have come results just like these .... Can't wait to see the pics from the new and improved version
Hope the cat is recovering nicely

That is so cute!! I can see the paw just fine! That is a great photo. You should share it on nature post or in Steve's neighborhood pic post. Same goes for Carol's coon pic. Would be a good theme for the day kind of post. I don't have a coon pic though. Those coons sure are clever and thieves and look like a thief cause of their "mask".
Great coon pics Builder and Glory!
I don't have a coon problem here as the birdfeeding station is baffled. No squirrels get there either, just bears! LOL!
All I see is raccoon tracks in the mud after a rain.

Pat, I think that I would love to see pics of your coon tracks in the mud or snow! That would be a cool thread to start this winter. Critter track pics in the snow!!
