"Mike, you did a great job explaining how to post pictures. It was very clear and IMHO needs to be repeated on Community Help. So, I can refer newbies who ask this question. Hint...Hint. "
I am posting this per Jean's request for those whom might find it helpful.
Jean,, thanks for the kind compliments.. My pleasure !
Getting photo’s from Photo Bucket ( PB ) onto the Birds and Bloom Forum and such.
Sign in to your Photo Bucket ( PB ) account. ( or other photo hosting web site ) (( might be slightly different if you use a different site, but should be very similar to this INFO ))
Select the photo or image that you want to post.
Place your Cursor ( Mouse POINTER ) over the photo you wish to post on Birds & Blooms.
You will then see a box open at the bottom of the image. In this box you will see 4 different items with a text box to the right of each of them.
· The first item you see says -- Email & IM
· The second one down says -- Direct Link ((( This will be the one you want to copy and paste from )))
· The third one says -- HTML Code
· The forth one says –IMG Code
LEFT Click in the box that is right of the DIRECT LINK. (This will highlight the text in that box).
RIGHT Click on the Highlighted text .
LEFT Click on “ COPY “
Now you are done with copying an image from your PB acct. !
TO PASTE your PHOTO in the POST you wish to display it in.
You will need to ::::::::::::
Assuming you have opened up a REPLY to a post,,,,,,,,, you will need to click on the ICON that looks like a little Film Strip (which reads INSERT MEDIA when you place your pointer of it) in the tool bar just above where you type your msg.
Then a new Window will open up with “ Insert Media “ with a box that reads LINK to MEDIA.
RIGHT click in the box and LEFT click on“ PASTE “ .
Below that you will see 2 boxes. The one on the left shows “Max width 550” Change that to 400 or 450. This is to ensure that most likely 100% of your photo will show up in the post . If you leave this on 550, you might notice that the RIGHT side of your photo has been cut off.
NOTE::::::::::::: it is much easier to type your msg. before inserting your photo. This way the photo will show up under you msg.
NOTE - 2 ::::::::::: I always click on PREVIEW at the top of the “REPLY” window where you type before POSTING…… This will pretty much show you what your photo will look like after it is posted… then you can either post it from there by hitting the POST button or you can go back and change something if you need to by clicking on “COMPOSE” next the “REPLY” tab.
HOPE I have made this clear and haven’t made it too hard for folks who use Photo Bucket photo hosting site.
I’m not a fan of Photo Bucket ( PB ) per say. So, I mainly use my Picasa Web Album site to post my photo’s link to B&B.
Contact me if you need help !!! I’ll be more than happy to assist in any way.

Mike, Major thanks for posting your clear instructions. I am going to ask Kirsten to make this a "sticky" which means that it will stay at the top of the page!

Jane & Mike, thanks for re posting this! I still have some trouble w/ posting more than one photo! Ay suggestions or idea as to why? Sometimes the 2nd photo will end up popping up before the 1st photo when I wanted the 2nd photo to be 2nd not 1st, if you follow me! lol!! Also sometimes it makes the typing reconfigure and I'm afraid to mess w/ it and then totally mess it up further and then I gotta redo the whole blasted thing!! Frustrating sometimes.

In regards to posting picture from Photobucket I use the 4th line (The forth one says –IMG Code).
otnorot, That works also if you don't use the film icon.:)

Hi Mike,
That is a LOT of instructions for posting a pix. My photos are in My Documents (My Pictures).
When I write an e-mail I can just pick up a pix from My Pictures and zip it in with just one click. Why can't I use this method?
Have never used Photo Bucket.
If I had your e-mail address I could send them to you and maybe you could post them on B & B for me. I am just not good at followering all those instructions.
Thanks anyway, Connie
Hi Connie,
Yes, it seems like a lot of trouble just to post a picture on B&B. The reason you can't just attach a photo as you do in your email attachments is that B&B web site uses a PHOTO HOSTING site (such as Photo Bucket). Meaning...... you have to UPLOAD your photo to another web site. That is set up as a host. Then, what you are actually doing when posting your photo to B&B is supplying a LINK to the host web site where you have uploaded your photo to. This way B&B does't have to use up a large amount of SPACE on their mainframe (computer) to store everyone's photos.
I never used Photo Bucket either until B&B started the Posting of photos. I'm not a big fan of Photo Bucket per say. I actually use another FREE site. I had already been using it for a few years before this B&B photo posting came along. It is called PICASA by Google. Then again, I have to upload any photo I want to post to B&B to this site and then supply the link to B&B forum post.
There are a few other PHOTO HOSTING sites out there other than Photo Bucket ( PB ) or Picasa. I'm sure some of the other fellow B&B er's can give some names of those. MOST are FREE by the way. Just a routine you have to go though to get any of your photos to B&B forums post.
I would be happy to post a few photos for ya.... I work 12 hour shifts now and I'm not on here much anymore.. Mostly my wife is time to time. I can send you a PM (personal message) with my email addy.
Remember that PHOTO BUCKET is a FREE site. and uploading your pixs to them is not that hard either. Once you have them in the PB website, the instructions I've posted are really not that hard or lengthy either. I just went thru STEP-BY-STEP for people like me who have a hard time trying to figure out what someone means when they say,,,,,,,,, " oh it's so easy, all you do is click on that and then click on that and then copy that to here and paste it to there, and then put it in that box and well,, you'll see a thingy or magigger and you put it in there to get it to there. AND WA-LALL you are done.. "
Well, I don't know about the others on here, But, I like CLEAR and to the point instruction. LOL
Hope this helps,,,,,
bamaconnie:If I had your e-mail address I could send them to you and maybe you could post them on B & B for me.
I just went to your profile and was going to send you a PM. But,, you must not have your settings for accepting them. So,, you will have to PM me then I can reply back to you.. I think,,
I just don't want to post my email addy on the board for the whole world to see. Hope you understand. So,, please PM us.. Mike or Jane
