These are Tree Swallows... we have a nest in our bird house, again this year... and two of the most beautiful swallows... I can get very near to them... they don't really mind me sitting and watching.

I can't remember her nickname but she isn't answering my emails and we were supposed to stop to see her this weekend. Her last name is Truitt and she lives in Wisconsin. If anyone knows her, please tell her we are in Strum [sp?] Wisconsin, 2 hours west of where she lives. We are in a campground just behind the golf course. I guess we'll drive by and see if she's home tomorrow...we came this way specially to see her But I wish she'd answer my emails. It's most disconcerting to not hear back from someone who invited us to stay in her yard and visit.

My progress today - Hopscotch

I painted my chipping black pots red, yellow and blue and after they dried, I planted one Kong Coleus in each pot. I set them in the bed in front of the house.

I put 3 Kongs in this orange pot. It goes on the back deck next to the Etarge.

You all scared me out of putting them in the sun, so they are all in the shade. I even put chopped up leaves on top to help conserve water.

While at our Grandson's graduation commencements the law enforcement came in and told them to hurry up the ceremony to let everyone get out of there and home before the storms hit. They ran the kids through like cattle and eliminated the last song. We got home just in time to put a few plants undercover and catch a panel from my GH as it was blowing away. THEN the tornado whistle blew......a funnel cloud passed right over us but did not touch down. We are so lucky. High winds have done some damage.....haven't checked it out too much yet.

Now they are telling us that there are 2 more similar storm cells to pass through later.....one around 7 and the other around 9. I am shutting down the puter and going to do the other things you do when preparing for tornadoes.....right now we have no TV, so probably only a matter of time before we lose phone and internet. ....yup...there is...while over at Tammy's today....I had left the windows down in my van...so of course flies decided to make their way into the van...so..while on the way home tonight with Abby...she said that a fly was bothering her...and that it was a 'boy' fly and she doesn't like boy flies...I asked her how she knew it was a boy fly and she said because 'girl' flies wear a dress! So now you know how to tell a boy fly from a girl fly. LOL

The Ghetto-way Garden gathering is just 2 months away. I have made a few plans, but would like to get an idea of how many are planning on attending.

We will gather at my home on Friday, July 19.....and have 3 days and 2 nights of fun filled chatting eating and a few extra activities. I know it will be a great time and hope the weather cooperates.

I am borrowing a camper from DS and have reserved the local Guest House for the weekend. The guest house is my treat, and the food is free as well. The only cost to you is getting here.

Please let me know if you are planning on attending....the MORE....the MERRIER! Charlene

There's a local hardware store going out of business (but their stock was incredibly over priced) so we stopped in looking for some deals. They had a seed display so you KNOW I had to look! I found these very fun Morning Glory's! I've never seen them like this!

Good Morning, Didn't get a chance to get on yesterday, too much to do in such a nice day. Today not so much, it is 68* but with spotty showers. We got a 1/4 inch overnight and a couple showers lasting about a minute this morning. I got almost all my seedling in yesterday so I'm feeling good about that. I'm hoping to get the last one in today but I will get muddy doing it. The next 3 days we are to have rain every day so they will like that. I'm not going to talk about my personal life since I complain too much as it is. Things will be better when I get things planted. Sounds like everyone is really busy now that spring is here. So much that needs to be done after being inside for 6 months. Snow, I love your pictures of the trees. Ours were getting pretty but the couple days in the 90* did them all in. I hope everyone is doing OK and enjoying whatever you are doing. Lair

Question About Barn Swallows

For years three (or more) pairs of barn swallows would nest in my barn. It never failed, they just came back year after year. But for the last two years they haven't been back. Last year one pair nested in the neighbor's new barn, but this year there are none in my barn or the neighbor's barn. Why don't they nest here any more? Nothing has changed. Could it be because I never cleaned out their old nests after they were done? There are about 5 nests in the area of the barn where they always built their nests. Should I clean out these old nests? Thanks for any help!

Looks like its gonna rain, havent checked the forecast for today .... keep thinking its Monday working that friday night has my mind messed up .... because i usually work sat/sun then off on monday

I have petunias , salvias, and geraniums and others that I want seeds from ...

Is it me or just bad timimg? It seems like every time I answer a posting that's where it ends. Its like my addition "killed" it.
